I'm sure every parent out there laughs at this comparison, but I really do think having a dog is like having a kid.

Not at all. I don't have kids (don't want them). But I do have a cat and I'm completely wrapped around his paw. Sorry you're having such a rough time, and I hope you're poochie is going to be ok.
