locking query

ok, so i'm still not back home yet, but ever since the last bout of asshatiness, i'm starting to consider options and insanejournal and semagic and crossposting and other stuff.

the easiest step would be locking my fics though. i've always resisted that because i think it sucks when people have to friend you (read: when i have to friend people) just to get to their fics. and i don't want the pain in the ass of having a fic journal separate from my real one, and it would have to be locked anyhow, so that's not really saving me a step and i'm all about the lazy.

so what i'm asking in my babbly way is - those of you reading, what do you think of locked vs unlocked journals? it will cover my ass a bit, but is it really worth the hassle?

discuss.

Once we get a fandom controlled place, I'll be moving there, but in the meantime, my places are insane journal and greatest journal.

At the moment, that's my plan too. What software are you using that posts to multiple places? Any tips on where I'd find it?

The latest version of semagic supports multi-journal posting. I've found a couple of guides online to setting up the multiple logins, none of which I have to hand.

If you google semagic, you'll find the download site.

I've seen other people who are using semagic, and it works wonderfully for them. I copy and paste, just because I trust my hands and brain more than I do my computer. :D That's just me, though. If you're using firefox, deepest sender will do it, and if you're a mac user, there are some clients that will work for you, but I'm not sure what they are. Still, if you look them up on the download clients page, or on google, you should be able to find them easily enough. Good luck!
