moments of joy

Tagged by [livejournal.com profile] melacita

Name ten things that bring you a moment of joy; tag five friends to do the same.

1. all of the idiotic inside jokes my husband and I have with each other

2. my viking helmet

3. my 90 lb golden retriever trying to get up on my lap - it's unconditional love

4. the "ode to joy" section of Beethoven's 9th - any time, any place, no matter how bad life is at the moment

5. remembering my reflection in the waters of the Chalice Well

6. having so much love from so many people from different walks of life - I am so truly blessed

7. the view of the mountains from my home-office window -- whether sunny and green with birds and butterflies, or dark with bats and ten billion stars, or hazy with rain and frosted with clouds or fog, it's gorgeous

8. all of the beautiful boys who haven't yet sued me for insinuating that they're gay

9. Ewan McGregor's frequently-on-display cock. (Oh wait, was that my out-loud voice?) How about: all of the beauty in the people I see, all of the delights of being enfleshed and incarnate, all of the pleasure possible when a person is open to love and the celebration of it

10. the fact that someone other than me, somewhere, will think #9 was amusing

Edit: *facepalms* I'm such a dorkface - I forgot about tagging people entirely. Well, if you wanna and you haven't, it's a fun meme, and thinking about the things that make you happy is a sure way to cheer up. :)

*snickers* All reasons I love you.

*giggles* I've missed you!

Oh, the Ninth. But I always listen to the whole thing, and lately it's been the second half of the thrid movement that really does me in. But the Forth... ahhhhhhhhhhhh.

(When they had the five groups singing it together on four continents during the opening of the Nagano Games, I was in absolute heaven.)

And I like the crossed out part of #9 better... but you knew that, didn't you?

(Was listening to "Concerning Love" again yesterday. *hearts you all over and tickles between your toes*)

I knew you'd be into the Beethoven. :) I'll have to give the 4th a listen.

*giggles* at #9 and *screams* and *writhes* at the tickling.

*smooch* too, because why not?

1. all of the idiotic inside jokes my husband and I have with each other Yes, absolutely. You wake up one day and realize you have your own language.

4. the "ode to joy" section of Beethoven's 9th I listen to very little classical music, but I just love the Ode to Joy and, in fact, the 9th.

6. having so much love from so many people from different walks of life Diversity is the spice of life and I'm with you; it's great to be tied in with all kinds of people. That way, no one person or group has to interest you all the time.

You wake up one day and realize you have your own language.

So true. ;)

That way, no one person or group has to interest you all the time.
Excellent point - maybe that explains why I flit around so much.

I think between the three here and the things I listed on Jassy's LJ, I've come up with 10. Although I could come up with another 10 if pressed.

Damn, I really need to break out my cello again. Likerightnow. *looks at clock* 5am?! Damnit... :(

Maybe now, at 10? The cello is one of my favorite solo instruments...

[identity profile] lozateazer.livejournal.com 2006-03-02 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
I've played it since the 5th grade. I have a love affair with it, but I haven't been practicing... like, ever.
