food, fic, and friends

1) I want your recpies for food you personally love to eat that can be made in a crock pot. Go on, stun me.

2) Pimp! I almsot never read Sam/Dean or angels or whatever but this is AWESOME - Michael/Lucifer and tangled conversations. [livejournal.com profile] sarka nailed it: But to Bring a Sword. It's not even fanfiction, really, it's like BIBLE FANFIC. Just go read it.

3) The problem with LJ: We all think we are so close, but really we know nothing about one another. So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away.

Seems like there are a lot of new friends lurking. Go ahead, ask me anything. I'm an open book. :)

I don't know as I'd call it a recipe, exactly, more a wingin' it. Get a roast, I like sirloin or rump. Brown it well then put it in the crock. I like carrots cooked in meat juice so, I put a potato or two in then fill the rest with carrots. I dump in a mix of about a cup or so of red wine (merlot works well, as does shiraz, but eh, your mileage may vary), Knorr Leak soup mix, cracked pepper (white, red, green and black), crushed garlic, and about 2 T of Tapioca flour for thickening, all mixed up before pouring (or the tapioca congeals in place instead of thickening the sauce. Cook on low until the meat falls apart when prodded with a fork.

Sounds good - I'll try it. Were you the one who had some kind of Indian something recipe, with stuff from Trader Joe's? Or was that someone else?

That was me. TJ's Thai Yellow Curry Simmer Sauce (or red) over chicken and sweet potatos. You can use white potatos if that's your preference, but yams taste sooo go with curry. Sometimes I'll add peas to the bowl when I serve.
