Thankful meme... Day 2

Let's see how many people can do this. Every day this month until Thanksgiving, think of one thing that you are thankful for and post it as your status. "Today I am thankful for..." Day 2 - Today I am thankful for my partner. We do not have a Big Swoony Romance of The Ages. We would both like less stress about money and more sex. We bicker and quarrel and sometimes we have huge meltdowns. But mostly he is my partner in life and my best friend (and the sex is still fucking awesome, even after 16 years, even if we both wish it was more frequent). I felt alone and unloved for the first twenty years of my life, and when we met it felt like "Ah. *There* you are." No matter what the future brings us, I am grateful to have him in my life.

Hmmmm... Romance is lovely...for the first year or so. After that a relationship has to grow into something stronger and more intricate, something that can survive the inevitable meltdown. Best Friendship is really good for that. Congrats on 16 years!
