2 drabbles that were lost
Two drabbles seem to have been deleted or eaten by monsters or something - they aren't anywhere in my LJ. Most odd. They are old.

Brown
"Brown" is the most succinct word, but so undescriptive. I've mixed pigments over and over, but can never quite capture the essence of your eyes, any more than I can capture the essence of you on canvas or film. You change, always in motion, and they change, reflecting the whirlwind within you.
Swirls of color and energy are the closest I can come. Every time I see you, the colors are different. We don't have to talk about your secrets, about who you fuck when I'm not there. I still believe in your eyes, I just don't care what you've done in your life.
You, now, are all that matters.

Hoping
He's young and smooth and beautiful and the way his eyes taste my skin makes me burn. A few days ago, his awkward overtures gave way to startling bluntness. I had been waiting for it, for him, for so long that I almost can't believe it. So here I am, drinking a cold beer on my porch, running my fingers through the condensation, wishing the bitter moisture in my mouth was the taste of his sweat. Unable to believe it's possible, that what I saw today was more than just wanting or needing or lust. That my hidden hopes might be true.
Tomorrow, if I see it in his eyes. Tomorrow, if it's there, I'll know it's for real. Then tomorrow... Tomorrow, I'll go to him. Tomorrow, we'll justify our love.
