SPN and writing
Supernatural:
OK, who are my SPN friends here? So many of you have commented on various posts, but then I get confused because, well, I have a lot of fandoms. And also a very full brain.
Partly I'm just curious and would love a comment from each of you who watch the show, and your level ofobsession involvement in the fandom or anything else you wanna tell me.
But also, I need one or two people I can bug over the next couple of weeks for little details about Jared and Jensen's real life. I am too busy to spend hours and hours reading through interviews for the teensy scrap of information I need, and would love to have a few people in particular that I can ask before I waste a lot of time googling.
(Examples of the sort of questions I've had in the past - age difference between siblings, what did they do between SPN and high school, cars they drive, etc)
Please? *flutters eyelashes* It's for a good cause - I've got about 3/4th of my
spn_comingclean fic plotted out.
Writing:
I always find it a little odd that I do probably 95% of my "writing" when I'm barely awake or when I'm driving. I wake up, close the bedroom door so my sweetie can't hear me babbling, and go lie down on the couch and mumble into an audio cassette recorder. Or babble into it when I'm driving. Most of the plot and dialogue of everything I've ever written started off that way. (Then, of course, there is massive clean-up once it's typed into Word.)
A blank sheet of paper in a notebook and/or the hum of the computer really intimidate me. I've written a few things like that, sure, but nothing that just *flowed*.
Process is weird.

Truthfully, though. I don't know much about the boys beyond what I can find out on imdb. Everything else is just hearsay I get from fics!! (you gotta love when you can't remember what you've learned from the show/movie/real life and what you've learned from fic!!)

That's pretty much exactly where I am - some things keeps popping up in fics and I have no idea if they're true or what they're based on if not. It sounds like the others on my flist have it covered for me, though. ;)

As for your writing process, I know of someone who writes most of his songs like that and I think it's a great method because yeah, empty pages are intimidating - when I write papers, I start by writing down the chapter titles, so they're not that empty any more.

Ooh interesting - yeah, I imagine the Blank White Page not being helpful for creating music. I'd never thought of that, but I can see it being even mroe true. I like your chapter titles idea; it fits into my outline theory. Once I have an outline typed in, I can create the rest of the story, no problem. Maybe I should just start doodling in my notebook margins so the page has *something on it*. ;)

Whenever you see me on AIM or YIM, you are welcome to hit me up with questions about the boys :D

I will defnitely ping you, but PLEASE tell me if you're busy with work/thesis - I don't want to be harassing you. In fact, I'll probably also post to LJ, so no one feels pressured. Thanks for offering to help! *hugs*

I'll be posting my questions, for sure. That way everyone who wants to can chime in with their answer.

And I have Kashmir as a ringtone because it reminds me of Dean.

Heh...ok, fine. So I lie.
And, I can tell you all kinds of stuff about the boys themselves. You know where to hit me up.

Jensen is an amazing actor--I've seen him work for years. And Jared? Well, I need to climb him. LOL
BTW--if you want *amazing* SPN icons, go see

(I hope there's a climbing icon...)
