Haven't really updated with much content in a while... I'm not sure what to say. OotP really threw me for a loop, and I'm still recovering. And I'm hesitant to say much about it before I have a chance to re-read it. Frankly, I'm just not sure what I felt about it...

I DO think JKR has been reading fanfic, AND I think I'm the only person who noted how many people vomit in this book.

(And really, aren't observations like that what everyone cares about anyway? No wonder I haven't wasted my time reviewing it yet. *g*)

Been keeping busy with betaing, which is harder than I thought. I guess with work and school, I'm more used to pointing out the flaws in things instead of the good points, which is terrible because I know that as a writer -I- need the positive stuff pointed out also, and I don't think I'm very good at doing that for other people. Yet. Give me some time and I'll get better, I promise!

Also been breaking my brain trying to work on my SS FQF challenge... I'm supposed to be writing about Snape having a change of character. I -like- his snarky character. I don't -want- him to change. Blech. And both ideas I've had, while slashy, have no sex! Damnit, the last 3 short-ish stories I've written are PG-13 or maybe R if you stretch it a bit. My credentials as a pornographer are slipping!

Then again, at least I'm learning to write shorter things than the behemoth that VS turned into... Somehow I'll figure out how to work the explicit sex back in, as well, I hope.

I was thinking of getting a site at slashcity... But am worried that I don't know enough technically to be able to do it myself, and/or that it's just too pretentious for words since I'm not exactly a big-name-author and have only written 3 stand-alones, one multi-chapter piece, one interlude, and am still working on the stupid sequel for VS...

*babble*babble*babble* My head is really... weird. I was in my best friend's wedding on Saturday, which was busy and stressful, and on Sunday thought maybe I was having a miscarriage. I think my brain is just in need of a break.

Anyone have any fics they'd like to rec? Anything not violent... More into unusual pairings lately. Blame it on icarusancalion's Harry/Percy story - is there more of that out there? And is PSA dead?

Glad to be blamed for interest in unusual pairings. :D Always happy to be a smut instigator. I saw a site once that featured Percy/Tom, if that counts for unusual. Then there's always switchknife's Rareslash.

As for getting a slashcity site, if you can figure out how to do it, go for it. You have enough stories (shoot, McTabby's site is very short). If you want to give people more, add a great recommendations page, perhaps even including links to stories that have only appeared on Livejournal. (Cybele has a great Harry/Blaise with Draco perving, for example, that's never been published.) That would be a wonderful public service.

I believe anything that gets good stories out to the public is a kindness, not arrogance. Gah. When I think what I went through looking for Harry/Ron stories...
