PIRATES!!!!

Saw "Pirates of the Caribbean" last night. Oh, the eye-candy! I'm still reeling. Buckles were swashed, planks were walked, bosoms heaved in corsets, swords clanked, and hair was long and wet. My friend and I went with our husband and we *squeeed* right along with all the teen girls. And nearly died at the ending (unlike the teen girls) with the most blatant homoerotic moment in film that I've seen in a while. (Can't tell you; just go see it!)

*swoon*splat* I always forget how yummy Johnny Depp is. He would have made a MUCH better Sirius Black, imo. It's a permanent peeve of mine that they made all the adults too old. Yes, I love Alan Rickman, but he's just too old. And Gary Oldman? Ick. And that guy they picked for Remus? Not nearly sexy enough.

Then again, I suppose they weren't casting with my sexual fantasies in mind. I shall have to send a scathing note to Hollywood. They did such a good job with the kids... Although I would have picked a totally different type for Percy and the twins...

Anyway. Not much new here. Plugging away at the polishing of fics. Writing for a fest is very different, taking someone else's concept and trying to twist it into a story. With a deadline. Not sure I like it. But it's certainly been a good experience! Remus is poiking me to finish his sequel; he's lonely.

I have about a dozen unemployed friends, casualties of the silicon valley dot bomb. They could make me spiffy web pages in about a minute. I could even pay them

But I don't want them to know. So I keep asking them questions like "how do I get it to center?" and "how do I change colors?" ARGH ARGH ARGH. It just looks so lame and stupid and I have no idea who or how to ask for help. Blech.
