Kinks meme

salixbabylon: (boys riding crop)
Feeling babbley, but not ready to dive into my navel yet. So, meme time:

Swiped from [livejournal.com profile] helena_s_renn:

Creature/Aliens: Hmm. Maybe? Not if it bumps into dubcon/rape, but I'm ok with a merman and a human, for example.

MPREG: Dear *GOD* no. Yet, I must admit that I have read one or two that worked because the focus was on the impossibility/WTFery of a guy being pregnant, and not all about the baby love. Overall, sappy is a definite "no" for me. Also, I don't have or want kids, and while I know many gay men do and yay for them, I am always a little weirded out by idealizing family life in fiction that I am primarily reading for porn.

Slavefic: I hesitate with this sort of fic because I've read some superhot slavefic, but... It's not consensual. By definition, a slave can't consent. Usually I skip it.

BDSM, S/M: This used to be my bulletproof kink. Subspace, brilliant doms, the mental aspects of d/s... But lately, I'm super picky about it. I hate bad kink with the passion of a thousand suns - you know, the kind that idealizes the actions and skips the internal stuff, that breaks the rules of consent, that goes too far just to be "extreme". Mostly, I'll only read stuff that's on recs lists or by my favorite authors, in whatever fandom. But give me someone who can write headspace - dom or sub - and I am all over that action. :)

Age difference: I used to be so into this... Harry/Snape, Obi/Qui, etc... But as I've gotten older, it's just a major turn off. Sure: ten, fifteen years, maybe twenty. But the "younger" guy has to be at least 25 for it to work for me, and 30 would be better. I think I simply saw this play out IRL too many times to have any faith that the age gap can be anything but using someone, for both sides.

Bloodplay: Blech. I got over my vampire fetish several decades ago. I don't care if the sub/masochist is consenting, I just can't get past it's seriousness - and unsafeness if ti's realworld.

Underage (chan): No fucking way. References to teenagers having sex together = fine. Explicit details, no. Having sex with an adult? No *fucking* way.

(Yet, I do sometimes read teacher/student AUs. I suppose I feel like it's wrongwrongwrong, but sometimes, that's what I want - titillation and shame and anger all mixed up. I like them best when it ends before they touch, though, all longing and UST.)

Crossdressing/Genderbender: This is a newish kink for me, brought about by all the gender-swap afforded by magic/tech in Inception, Stargate:Atlantis, etc. I'm more into the genderswitch thing than the guy-in-lingerie, but that's growing on me as well. I blame [livejournal.com profile] telesilla for this almost 100%. :)

Bodyswap: One of the more fun ways to use magic/technology, I think. God knows, my husband and I have a longstanding agreement that if we ever get to trade bodies, we can both expect it to be worn the fuck out when we get our own bodies back. *blush*

Dubcon: Totally depends on how dubious the consent is. I want a verbal agreement, but emotional reluctance, something holding them back but them OOOH, it's so good, and they're all into it by the time the sex really gets going. The reversal - saying no explicitly and then being seduced into loving it - that's still rape, people. Nothing dubious about it.

Noncon: No. And frankly, I'd really prefer authors start calling it "rape" and see just how unacceptable that is. (Yes, rape fantasies are perfectly normal, of course, blah blah blah. I'm just sick of rapetastic porny stories. Then again, I truly loathe h/c and drama, and rape is pretty common in those genres. It's like torture to me - I'm not desensitized, I don't ever want to be desensitized, and if you've written your main character well and I've identified with him/her, for the love of all you hold holy, STOP FUCKING TORTURING HIM/HER/ME.)

Incest/Selfcest: Selfcest? As in, suddenly there are two of me and we get to have sex? Thumbs-up! Incest... again, in past fandoms (LOTR, HP) I was all for brother-brother. But I found it a huge turn-off in SPN. Tastes change, is all I can say.

Threesome/moresome/gangbang: As long as everyone's into it, sure! Unfortunately, it gets complicated to write about, especially with all the same gender, and it's hard to find anything more than a threesome that doesn't get so confusing it's unintentionally funny.

Death: No.

Watersports/scat: Frankly, aside from the gross-out/humiliation factor of being peed on in a bdsm context, I've never understood the allure of men peeing. It just does nothing for me one way or the other. Scat? Blech.

Crossovers: Totally depends. My longstanding rule is that I have to be familiar with both universes, which is shockingly rare. :)

Unhappy/wide-open endings: I prefer both reading and writing Happily For Now, as opposed to Happily Ever After. HEA is a fuckton of work, and not very interesting to read about, IMO. Relationships are hard and sometimes suck. I prefer realism, or a story that just wanders off without specifying.

Violence/Torture: Please keep it off the page, and please keep warning for it. Thanks.

Established relationship: This is a kink? *blinks*

"Feel free to take this at will. I'd love to hear from all corners."

I totally feel the urge to do another 50 kinky ways series now... ;)
