My Comments: This was one of the first H/D fics I read. It's incredibly sweet without delving into sappiness too much. A lovely portrayal of the inner workings of both boys dealing with falling in love for the first time.

My Comments: This one totally pushes my boundaries between consent and really made me *think* about many uncomfortable things. In short, it totally broke my brain. It was also the very first slash I ever read and will always hold a spot in my heart.

My Comments: Sweet and plausible, especially if you've ever wondered about lasting Quidditch injuries. And the sequel is hothothot!

My Comments: Quintessential Harry/Draco romance. Believable even, if a bit schmoopy.

My Comments: I *love* how the two boys deal with the "potion/spell gone wrong" premise in this one. Humorous, sweet, and hot by turns.

My Comments: Very angsty but well handled. This fic inspired me quite a bit when I was writing "VS." This is the only place I could find this, as the archives and the author seem to have disappeared.

My Comments: What can I say about this? This is what JKR *should have written*. The style, the tone, the angst... It's a monumental work. I must include a spoiler warning about the heartbreaking ending, though - I honestly cried for two days. Required reading for H/S slashers.

My Comments: This wasn't what I thought it was going to be when I read the warning, and it is muchmuch better. Snake is a wonderful character and I love how she does the parseltongue-to-English phrases.

My Comments: Excellent Snape characterization, with intriguing Wizarding world culture. History buffs should be sure to check out the notes.

My Comments: Excellent PWP with one of the best lines *ever* in it: "A panting, adolescent god, one whose knees gave and nearly buckled as Snape pressed his mouth on the wet spot that had spread wider on Harry's Y-fronts." GUH!

My Comments: I love Minx. You should read everything by her - she excelles at both PWPs and long, involved stories. I especially recommend School Work and A Good Buy.

My Comments: The 6-part series of PWPs cover a seriously broad spectrum of kinks. The men are all brilliantly characterized, and while the series is definitely porn-focused, the humor and emotion add some nice flavoring. Definitely one of my favorite threesome series ever.

My Comments: Cute, funny, hot PWP by one of my favorite authors.

Title: Staffroom Seduction

Author's Summary: "The events of PoA retold--with a kinky twist. Snape and Lupin come to a kind of understanding. Warning: BDSM, angst, all the dark, good things. (dovielr has kindly provided warnings for each of the chapters.) A nice, long, kinky fic to spend the better part of a day on."
My Comments: What can I say about this brilliant story? It is *the* most definitive explanation of Snape and Lupin's relationship, with astounding canonical agreement. There are few fics that have changed or realigned things in my head in a different way, not just in how I see the HP-universe, but in how I see life. "Staffroom Seduction" is one of them. I read this all in one go, not really moving from the computer for a whole weekend. It was an amazing novella, with beautiful characterization, and fantastic who-how-why-what introduction to BDSM without being too scary, written by someone who knows firsthand. And HOT, did I mention that? Panties-on-fire HOT! :)
* Also read: Blood on the Dance Floor by Mathilda May, a one-shot prequel about Lupin's introduction to BDSM.
* Dovielr's BDSM Essay - Snape, Lupin is also pretty fabulous, imo. Her use of canon to support her ideas is phenomenally impressive.

My Comments: I liked how this "classic fanon" idea was handled, overall, and the sense of humor was right up my alley. At risk of spoiling things, the last scene in the Epilogue features a pairing I would never read in any circumstances as a stand-alone, but was deeply, *deeply* amused and thought it was just fantastic.

My Comments: Angst and romance. Every perfectionist will relate to her Percy. Very sweet.
