I finally finished my cookies-for-the-Avengers project!

Scotch balls for Tony Stark/Iron Man
Sunflower-coconut cookies for Bruce Banner/Hulk
Nipple Cookies (peanut butter blossoms) for Steve Rogers/Captain America
Gingerbread for Agent Phil Coulson
Cherry Bombs for Agent Nick Fury
Molasses Snaps for Clint Barton/Hawkeye
Russian Snowballs (teacakes) for Natasha Romanova/Black Widow
Candy Cane cookies for Thor
and Devil's Food mini cupcakes for Loki

I had so much fun! I stopped baking years ago because it was a pain the in the ass, and I didn't want to gain weight, and every time I gave people food for the holidays they whined about their weight, and I got tired of it. But I enjoyed it *so much*! I'd forgotten how meditative it is and how much I just love baking. I'm going to take any leftovers to the bank, post office, fire station, etc after the holidays. :)

I hope everyone reading this has a fantastic week full of joy and cheer, and plenty of delicious things to eat.

I would love the chocolate candy cane cookie recipe. When I get into the Zen of baking and have too much stuff, I take it to the rescue mission. I know it is always appreciated to have a little homemade goodie to enjoy amidst the institutional type meals they are cranking out daily to feed all of those folks.

One year I made way too much fudge, bread and cookies so took a nice selection over there.

That's a fantastic idea! We have a lot of shelters around here, but there's one just down the road that always gets overlooked. :)

Whenever is convenient for you. We have been without electricity since Thursday and it just came back on at 3pm. I don't plan on doing any baking just yet. We had to go to town and shower at the gym and go out to eat dinner yesterday and today. Would you mind sending the Russian Snowball recipe too. Thank you. :)
