Did I mention that I seem to be channeling Viggo? So I took some pictures of the paths I walk on campus every day, after the most recent rain storm.

This is where I went to school as an undergrad, as well as where I work. The redwood forest/campus paths have always made me feel stuck in a fairy tale, with elves and magical beings just around the corner.

One of my favorite trees:

Another favorite tree:

The building where I work:

When redwood bits fall from the trees, they leave these neat impressions on the asphalt paths, even once they dry up and get blown aside... Not the best picture, but I tried.

And the sky, a few hours before the next downpour:

Thanks for looking!

Wow, I am envious of where you work. A friend and I drove through the giant redwoods on Highway 101 after a snowstorm one January, and the snow had melted just enough that clumps of the wet stuff kept hitting the car. I told my friend that fairies in the trees were throwing snowballs at us for our audacity at invading their forest. There's just something about trees like that looming over a roadway or footpath that seems to invite thoughts of magical beings.

I wandered over to your lj because I've been reading your fic, Educational Endeavours. I hope you don't mind that I've friended you. :) These pictures are absolutely beautiful. The trees and pathways really do look magical. It must be a gorgeous place to work. Sometimes you find places in the world untouched by modern living, just wild and natural, and they seem like little pathways into otherworld. Thank you for sharing these and again, I hope you don't mind me commenting. Or my groggy ramblings on a Wednesday morning, come to that. :)

So beautiful!! Thanks for posting these. :)

They remind me of when I was in California...We went to a nature park, I think it was called Muir Woods or something like that, and it looks a bit like that. :)

Mmmm... We don't get snow here on the central coast, but I have been in it on the northern parts, and it is lovely in the forests. You just have to watch out for those fairies. :D

It is fantastic, and every day I try to remember that I am so lucky to live here, and to be grateful that 'here' exists and I'm in it. :)
