Geh. It seems like a ton of things have happened since I last updated... I think I'll make you slog through all the RL stuff before I get to the good stuff...

Friends visited from DC, but didn't stay at our house, which was nice. Weird crushy thing on one of them seems to have faded, which is good. In the flesh, there's no attraction, but when we talk online, well... things get a bit flirty and then I get Very Confused Inside. Which, yeah, is a fairly normal state of being for me. :P

Anyway, I GOT EVERYTHING FINISHED ON TIME! Yule was great, I adore my coven. I'm so lucky to have such wonderful, supportive, giving, loving friends. I made a last-minute pear tart which was easy -and- delicious, and my imitation-Lush bath bombs turned out well and people were so appreciative that it was totally worth it to go to all the trouble to make them. :)

Dinner on the 24th went well, and I got to use my china from the wedding, and the crystal and silver flatware I inherited from my aunt. It was nice and elegant but not overly formal or awkward. The 25th was fun - we opened our stockings, then made french toast, then opened our presents.

Notable loot = fake diamond earrings (I specifically asked for fake so I could wear them without worrying about losing them), cute panties from Wacky Jac, and um, some very nice black leather fleece lined wrist cuffs from Stormy Leather from Bad Santa. ;) Oh, and black satin elbow-length gloves. Merry Christmas indeed! *g*

And of course, ROTK-EE with the little Minas Tirith. :D I still need to watch the movie again with the cast commentary, but I've watched the movie and most of the extras. *drool*squee*droolagain*

And then that afternoon some friends came over and we had more food and played some games and watched some of the extras, and lostiawen was nice enough to show me the easter eggs on all the dvds, since I'd never heard of them.

And there was some drama with my mother and stepfather making a 6 hour round-trip drive to leave things on my doorstep when I wasn't home, which creeped me out... And then having to have dinner with them tonight... But I survived, and won't have to see them again until Thanksgiving, probably. *shrug* It's over, anyway.

I finished writing the last chapter of Educational Endeavors!

It's out to beta, and I'm relieved/sad/thrilled/proud/tired/and a million other emotions all messed up in one. I'll wax nostalgic about the process and stuff some other time, though.

So this week - catch up on all the yummy fics I'm behind on, rest, relax, take in some movies, go out hot-tubbing with the girls, clean house, find the wood surface of my desk, etc...
