Had a very productive morning of writing. Have finished outline/first draft of SB/RL story. Now to revise and then send off to the lovely olivia_lupin for beta.
And then to write the challenge I was assigned at the SS-FQF.
And then beta the story I don't want to.
And then the one I do.

Note to self: Do NOT sign up for any more FQF challenges!
Do NOT offer to beta for anyone else until August!
This was SUPPOSED to be a nice, relaxing summer, you dimwit! Stop filling it up with projects!

Got email this morning saying that RestrictedSection.org had posted my story! Yae!


In other news, Friday night we had dinner with another couple, J and her fiance, T.

T: So I hear the new Harry Potter book is out soon.
Me: *squeal* Seven days!
T: You know, I read this article in the paper that some people got so desperate during the wait that they started writing their own stories about the characters. Even smutty stories!
Me: *silent*
J: *giggle* *nudges me* Tell him.
Me: *death glare*
T: What?
J: She writes it.
T: No.
Me: *long suffering sigh* *death glare to J* Yes. I do.
T: Really? Why?
Me: *shrug* Why not?
T: So who do you stick together? Harry and Ron? (totally joking)
Me: *figuring I've been outed anyway, why the hell not?* No, I'm not really into that one. Mostly Harry and Draco, and the teachers in various parings.
T: *gobsmacked*
J: Nice!
Husband: My wife writes gay smut about Harry Potter. I couldn't be more proud.

Thank the gods we were all drunk. Hopefully no one will remember. *facepalms*

In a fit of drunken....whatever this past weekend, I told my gay friend that I write homoerotica...his immediate response: "Can I read it?"

Unfortunately, in the sober light of day, neither of us revisited the topic...perhaps through email...*grin*

*giggle* People's reactions are amazing, aren't they?

I've encountered a few befuddled nose-wrinkles, but mostly everyone I've told (or who had hunted me down through other people) has either ignored it completely or been mildly curious.

My gay-friend who read VS and assured me of not doing anything impossible also reported "It reminded me of something I always wanted to try but haven't yet." I don't think I want details!

OTOH, I'm wondering if I'm going to be the only slash writer/reader at the bookshop at midnight on Friday... Five million children and one pervert.
