Has anyone actually read the Jedi Apprentice series? Is it worth checking out from the library/buying? There appear to be 18 of them, and knowing me, even if they suck, I'll read all 18.

Am tired. Jet lag or something is really hitting me hard.

Am having the urge to make a scrapbook of the trip, with all the tickets and stuff. I'm scared. I don't need another hobby or even a one-shot project.

Am slowly but surely catching up on fics I missed. Sorry if it takes me a while to read/respond/etc. to fics and emails.

Keep picturing Ewan wearing just this and um... well... Yeah.

Don't want to go back to work tomorrow. Well, ever, actually. :P

Hahaha, I love that mental image.

I've read the JA books. They're poorly written and are definitely books for younger kids but I love them because of the backstory and the angst between Qui and Obi. There's just so much to read into.

The only thing I disliked was near the end, they never wrote a book about Obi and Qui in or before episode 1. I think that I would have liked to see that.

Cheers.

Urgh, don't waste your money on the JA books.

However: Anything, and I mean ANYTHING by Timothy Zahn is awesome. He's a great writer. I don't know if you've read his SWEU series, but it's definitely worth it. :)

The main reason to read the JA books is so that you can read a fair amount of the fanfic and know what people are talking about -- why Qui gives Obi rocks as birthday gifts, who Bruck, Xanatos, Bant and Garen are and what happened on Melida-Daan. They're not bad as far as YA books based on a franchise go, which is to say, they're not very good. The later ones read as pretty slashy and the writer is an admitted Qui fangirl.

They're also a hilarious example of how little George cares about the Extended Universe as there's a plot line involving Qui and a fellow Jedi that is utterly contradicted by the idea in AotC that the Jedi don't allow attachments to other people.

Hmm... Your comments and those of others make me think I shouldn't bother. Maybe I'll see if the library has them and decide based on that. :) Thanks for the warning, though.

Heh, ok. I think I'll see what the library has and maybe read them or not. Sounds like everyone thinks they suck. :)

Will see about the other one, though.

Hehehe. Well, at this point, I think I've read enough fanfic and looked up enough info on the web to know who everyone is and what events they are referring to. It's pretty much been my guilty pleasure/obsession for the last few months. :)

Am very amused to hear the latter ones are slashy - I love the idea of bringing that into the subconscious of young adults!

*whispers* George annoys me on so many levels I don't even know where to begin.

You are so naughty and if I had even the slightest influence on you as far as your Ewan-love goes then I'm tickled totally pink.

My son read a few JA books and never insisted on reading them all, so they can't be very good. Believe me, if they were wroth reading, the entire set would be sitting in his room next to his Animorphs books and LOTR and HP.

Looks like something some sort of tour guide might or might not have been wearing at some point on someone's vacation.

But damn, that thing would look good on Ewan.

"slight" - no. You and [livejournal.com profile] lennongirl are TOTALLY 100% ABSOLUTELY responsible for the Ewan crush. Fixation. Lust. Obsession. Yeah.

One more strike again. Maybe I won't even bother with checking at the library...

Yeah, I um, was, uh, doing some research. Just to make sure what I was envisioning really existed. Not shopping for my sweetie. Nope nope nope.

Mm.... Yeah. Wouldn't it? Need pictures. Will ask his wife if she'll share the ones in my head. :)
