Hey all you BPAL people out there --

Earlier this week I went to this awesome place where you make your own perfume (Perfumer's Apprentice) and made two perfumes.

The scents only last about 2 hours on my skin. I haven't worn anything other than solid perfume in ages. Is this normal? I thought it would last longer.

I do love them, though...

Egyptian Twilight = neroli, white ginger, amber, vetiver, egyptian musk
Eden Untamed = fig, orange blossom, lavender, sandalwood, egyptian musk

They do Harry Potter themed parties, too. I'm *so* going back. :)

Hey kiddo! Mine lasts a bit longer than that - or at least the base does - but not too much longer.

We were using essential and fragrance oils which have different degrees of volatility. I think what the girl was trying to say by "top notes" is more volatile or disappears more quickly.

When we made soap, certain fragrances fades quickly, while scents like the geranium and cinnamon oil lasted forever.

Finally, we were adding scented oils to oil, thereby diluting them. I love the fragrance I created and I was thinking of just buying the oils and making it straight.

Take care! *hugs*

Thanks for the explanation. That's an excellent plan, just making an undiluted version. And maybe wearing a bit more than I'm used to until then. ;)
