You are a Reform Snapeist.

What does that Potter kid know? He's just too young and self-centered to realize what's always been obvious to you -- Snape isn't a bad guy at all! He has plenty of reasons for acting the way he does -- he has to keep up a front of hostility so that the Death Eaters don't suspect he's turned on them. Naturally he has friends and romantic interests, he just keeps his private life private. And hey, if you had to stand over a steaming cauldron all day, *your* hair wouldn't stay volumized either. You like to read/write stories that portray Snape as a long-suffering hero who eventually gains the respect and love he deserves. Oh, and his nose isn't big -- it's *aquiline*!

What kind of Snapeist are you?

Well, duh. Tall, dark, possibly-handsome-when-not-seen-through-the-eyes-of-bratty-kids, intelligent, moody, and a serious challenge. What's not to love?

So I'm trying to pull together lists of links and recs for my web pages.

Do I need to let the authors of stories/owners of archives know that I'm linking to them? Obviously I should link to the warning page and use their banners if they have them (for the links page), but is it considered rude or improper to not inform people that you're linking to their site from yours?

I guess I'm hoping not, because I'm looking an an assload(tm) of emails to send out and get approvals for, if so.

Anyone know? How would you feel if I linked to your site without telling you?
(Personally, I think I'd like to know, but just for the reassurance that someone was reading. I doubt that, say, Seeker or the PSA really need that fangirlyness.)
