So, we all saw the note from Sybaritic Press about submitting slash, yes?

I've never submitted anything to anyone, ever. And I'm a wee bit terrified.

Also, I can't decide what to send. Help me, please?

Below are the fics that fit the requirements and don't make me cringe in shame.

I don't know how to say this without sounding bitchy, but please don't choose a fic just because you like VigOrli best. Obviously it's not going to stay VigOrli, so please select whichever story you think is the best/most likely to be published.

NOTE: If you only read VigOrli (or otherwise haven't read all 5 stories), you can still vote and I still would appreciate your input. Just please *also* comment and let me know that you haven't read all of them so I can take that into consideration.

And yes, I plan to do another edit before I send a fic off to them.

Any other tips/suggestions/thoughts on how not to hyperventilate and/or be crushed if it's rejected are most welcome.

Personally, I've always had a damp spot for "A Thorough Workout" - that bit with the water bottle shower has a special place in my smut filled brain.

I went with "A Thorough Workout" over the others largely for practical reasons. I think it might be the easiest to translate into original fiction.

I love all of them, particularly "The Banana Treatment," but because that setting is so within the context of New Zealand during filming, it could be rather a challenge to morph into an original fic.

"The Right Fit," as much as I like it, I think would be the toughest, because the characters are so specific to Viggo's and Orli's circumstances.

So there's my two cents. :)

Workout made a lasting impression on me... I also think that captain's cabin is a nice meld of pirates, alatriste, and rps -although it might be harder to make it into something generic.

I think perhaps I misunderstood on the poll, because if the idea is to submit a story that can be converted to non-RP then The Right Fit probably isn't the best suggestion. I thought they were looking specifically for RPS, I suppose I should go review their criteria again. Because all of these, except maybe Workout are too based on specific characters or incidents to be easily generified, I think.

I think that's a valid point. Looking at the criteria, my interpretation was that they'd take RPS/FPS and work with you to de-fanfic it later on.

But yes, I hadn't thought at all about which fics that would be easiest to do that to - and I think The Right Fit would be difficult, since it's so very much based on the movie-star phenomenon, and the two of them and their quirks in particular.

I think I'm going to try A Thorough Workout, since it's fairly generic porn. ;)
