Tangible Reminders

Ewan is a pretty easy-going guy, about everything except acting and topping. Which aren't so very different from each other, come to think of it.

Both are so important to him that he's a bit of a perfectionist about them, at least as much as possible for living art forms. He wants to do his best, give each role, each moment, everything he can.

There's a small scar on Ewan's bicep that reminds him how important it is to pay attention, to not let his mind wander. To be fully in the moment, like a Jedi. One small inch of flesh, forever changed because the bloke with the whip was sloppy.

Ewan hasn't held a grudge, but he's not forgotten either. It's a permanent reminder and sometimes that makes him come across as a mean or unfeeling dom, but that's not true at all. He just wants to get it right. Give exactly what his partner needs, all the way to the limit but no farther. He doesn't ever want anyone to carry his scars unless they've chosen to.

Sometimes his fingers trace the bumpy skin and he wonders how different it would feel if he'd wanted to be branded.

I guess we could use it, if you don't want to get into actual, you know, branding.

Hmmm, now that I put it that way, we could do a fic about the two of them coming out with their own E/E sextoys made from casts of their own naughty parts, and how they have to create a brand for the line of dildos...

Mmm, slashy Island -- if you're not reading heartofslash's Island 100 (http://heartofslash.livejournal.com/tag/island100), I think you'd enjoy it. It's mostly Lincoln/Laurent but Merrick appears as well. ;)
