I think *trying* is more difficult than *doing*.

My coach has this thing where when I say "I'll try to do XYZ" she puts a pen on her desk and says "Try to pick up the pen." When I reach for it, she pushes my had away and says, "No, that's *picking up the pen*, not *trying* to pick it up."

Reminds me of Yoda. ;)
