Finally we are home. I actually had a *vacation*, although the decision/realization to not get anything resembling work done resulted in being very bored and feeling a bit frustrated a lot of the time.

Ashland Shakespeare Festival was a mixed bag, as most repertories are. "On the Razzle" was so fucking funny. The backstage tour was fun. "As You Like It" sucked ass. Bad pacing will kill anything, movies or theater or even just a bellydance show or academic class.

Also, way too much driving. Monday = 5 hours. Tuesday = 6 hours. Friday = 6 hours. Saturday = 5 hours. I am officially small-talked out. There's got to be a way to fly there instead...

Home is nice though. Good bed. Bathtub. Dog. Tea with *milk*. And I'm feeling energized and excited to get some work done this month. And start the weird diet, even.

I'll inflict that on you in another post. ;)

Welcome back and glad the long drives didn't put you in the looney bin. That much driving with my relatives every day would have the men in white coats waiting for me when I got home.

Today has been a white-coated-men day for sure.

Still, it's good to be back home. ;)

oooh! i went to ashland when i graduated from high school with two girlfriends and had a smashing time (er, that was a v. v. long time ago, but it still has a warm spot in my hearts). saw comedy of errors and julius ceasar and henry IV and blythe spirit and something with bicycles in the small theatre.

er, sorry, just, well, i live in nz now and haven't found anyone who even knows about ashland for a while.

yeah, well, um, i'm just pokin around cause you just sent me a nice recipe via another lj-er.

Ashland is well worth getting excited about, IMO. This time wasn't so fab, but the last time I went we saw 6+ plays and most of them were great.

You're more than welcome to slink around - I've kind of seen you in passing in different LJs/fandoms over the years. :)
