Oddly enough, I *am* an Ox. I guess this Chinese astrology stuff is more accurate than I thought.

Life - Work stuff is going well. I'm getting prepped for my class - this week's tasks are to put up fliers and handbills all over town and then finish the syllabus/outline.

The diet/controlled fast is going ok. I'm tired and grouchy and ache deep in my muscles, but hopefully that's all the toxins making their way out. One week down, two to go. This will be the difficult week, since it's the fasting one.

I've been avoiding email and LJ (especially heartofslash *cringe*) because I can't write and I suck and need to stop doing that and just sit down and write even if it sucks. Sorry. I'll post the next 50 Kinky Ways as soon as it's betaed instead of waiting for the next Monday. Bad Salix - no pretties.

I don't think I could fast for a week. I'm definitely as big as a whale but if I don't eat something every couple of hours I get all shaky; two days and I'd probably pass out! Good luck, though.

And I can only speak for myself, but I never mind waiting for fics from authors I like. Life can be too distracting sometimes for all of us.

WOW! I haven't fasted in a long time. I should. I could use it, I can just *feel* the toxins floating around inside have a big dance party. If you can do that and still function, I have to hand it to you. And also if you've done this before, you'll remember after about 11 days you're not even hungry any more.

So is there a certain reason you're doing this? Just for cleansing?

Very Lo-Pri question: I'm looking into buying some meditation or hypnosis CD's, and I seem to recall you talked about some while back. Do you have recommendations?

Don't beat yourself up about the writing sweetie. It's much harder for your brain to function when you're fasting because all the engery being burned is going to your body parts that HAVE to continue to function, like your heart. :-) But you probably know that. I just want an excuse to give you a pretty:

Well, it's not a no-food fast. Mon and Fri I get all the fruits and veggies I want. Tues and Thurs is all juice. Wednesday is water with lemon juice and teas. And Saturday I go back to being vegan with no wheat. I was pretty shaky just being vegan last week, at first, but I was ok by the end of the week.

Thanks for the patience with writing. I managed to pound something out this afternoon - we'll see how it turns out. :)

I've *never* fasted before, except for religious reasons as a kid (10-17, not a child). I am quite a bit overweight and I do like my food. ;) I'm doing it for health reasons - my acupuncturist says most of my health probelms are because of an imbalanced liver, so I thought I'd give her diet plan a try. It's only for 3 weeks.

I especially recommend Drumming for Shamanic Journeys, Karma Moffett, Layne Redmond, and Nawang Khechog for meditating. Everyone likes different things though - my husband likes techno music, where I prefer a steady drumming without not much else.

Wow a 3 week fast seems daunting, that's impressive. Keep drinking lots of water even though it'll probably make you feel a little nauseous, it's important to flush out the garbage.
