Name five qualities you always find attractive in fictional characters

1. Intelligence. Especially obscure historical knowledge, and the ability to speak/read multiple languages. Makes me weak in the knees.

2. Height. In fiction, I want someone tall and lean. Like Sherlock Holmes. In real life, too tall = too hard to kiss.

3. Sense of humor. If a character is no fun at all, I'm not that interested in them. Sarcasm gets extra bonus points, especially if it's dryly witty rather than outright cruel.

4. Likes nature and likes to do something in it - gardening, brisk walks in the country, swimming in the ocean, anything like that.

5. As in film (and real life!), swordplay in books gets me all hot and bothered.


Huh. I think I need a Holmes/Russell fix. ;)

hmm.. good criteria, I'd claim it as my own, except... I bet Miles Vorkosigan could get you over the height thing. Smart beyond all reason, hyperkenetic, imaginative. Just... short.

Anyway. The characteristics I like in fiction are about the same things that get me going in RL.

1) Leather. Wear anything leather. Leather BOOTS...leather boots will guaranteed drive me crazy. Sexy second skin tight black leather pants. Man or woman. Real or imagined. Wear nice tight leather. I don't know why that makes me think of Lara Croft. ::growls::

2) Intelligence, imagination and passion about what they're intelligent about. Particularly literature. Kerouac, Gibson, Ibsen, Joyce, Shaw, Sartre, Yates, Camus, Rimbaud, Robbins, Salinger, Burgess. My mind is the fastest route to my panties.

3) Sense of humor and wit that is slightly off and adorably demented. In strange places, in odd situations. Add some timely dry sarcasm and I'm sold.

4) A little cockiness, a little swagger. A bit of dominance. A bit of devil may care, fuck it. It's dangerous. Frighten me a little. Then make me your dirty wanton slut.

5) OOoohHHH Swordplay ! Mee tooooo! Mmmmm. Goes with the Leather Boots. Gets me so damned hot. And throw in some Martial Arts for good measure. *gulp* ;)~

This reminds me- Uma, Lucy Liu, Daryl Hannah in Kill Bill- ~*HOT*~.

6) I have to add a sixth for EYELINER! Ooh. Definitely in real life. Pretty.

IRL, all I ask is that they be teller than me by at least 2 inches, so 5'5". Although it *is* nice to be literally swept up on your toes, waltzing with a man who know how to lead and is almost 6 feet tall...
