a few miscellaneous things

1) Livejournal is definitely not sending emails of comments and stuff - so if I haven't responded to your comments, that's why. I'm trying to remember to check every now and then.

2) There is a sequel to "Virulentus Somnius" all outlined and soon to be written. My tentative plan at the moment is to get it written and start posting by the end of June. Possibly earlier, if I post it as a WIP.

The new fic is Harry/Severus, but also Remus/surprise and answers both "and then what?" with H/S and "whatever happened to Remus anyway?" And it's NC-17, of course. Some angst. A lot less than in VS though! Far more smut. :)

3) Lots of new people have friended me recently! Welcome! I've been super good about keeping my Complete Fic Index up to date and fics are also located in the Memories thingy. And they're also tagged by fandom, pairing, and by title for the four long series.

I am not terribly good at reading/commenting on other people's journals. Don't take it personally if I just lurk on yours for a long time while I get to know you.

4) I just realized the 4-year anniv of my LJ passed me by in April and I've decided that if/when I hit 200 friends, I'll do something to celebrate. Anyone have any idea for what? I'd love to promise everyone a drabble but you all know how crankypants it makes me when I over-extend myself.

5) On that Complete Fic Index thing... I've got it sorted by fandom and by pairing within that. Should I add word count and rating to that list as well? (I will if at least 5 people tell me they'd appreciate it.)

6) Oh, and if there are any artists out there who want to make banners or whatnot to go with any of my fics, just let me know. I'm always excited by that!

I always love to have word counts, because it gives you an idea whether you have to expect an epic that you better print before your eyes start bleeding from the damn computer screen, or whether it's a short drabble you can read just before your lunch break when the boss isn't looking. :)

I like some idea of the size of a story just so I know how much time I need to read it, but exact word counts aren't necessary; a rough estimate is fine. On the other hand, for one-shots you can get some idea based on the scroll bar when you open it so I guess I'm kind of on the fence; sorry.

I can't write you/me fics. That would be wrong. I'd get even more obsessive and I wouldn't be able to look you in the eye when I visit and it would be awkward and uncomfortable and oh who am I kidding, it's not like I'm not having those thoughts anyway. *blush*

Mmm, I've found the same thing with LJ - some messages don't get through; birthday reminders come two days late; some entries I don't see at all and it's only when I get the next chapter of a story that I realise I'd missed the one before . . . etc . . . etc. *climbs off soapbox*

200 friends? Wow . . . Well to celebrate, you could wisk us all off to a Caribbean island for a couple of weeks of sunshine and frolicking! Oh sorry! Did I say that out loud? . . . well this is LJ isn't it, not RL! *grins*

How about you ask people for one word they would like to see included within a story and see if you can write something that includes all the words you're given? Nah, perhaps that's a bit too ambitious, but something along those lines, so all friends can join together . . .

It's wonderful you're keeping the index going - there's so much I still have to explore, but this definitely helps. I think word count might be a good thing as it will enable us to "dip in" and read a short story if, say, we've not much time to spare, or start a really long one if we're in the mood . . .
