Shakes, rattles, and rolls! That was the biggest/longest earthquake we've had in this house! I'd forgotten how fun the adrenaline rush is. :)

Also, my fic is up for [livejournal.com profile] ficrocksthe80s at Insane journal - What Are Words For?.

The bare facts are that it's H/D, NC17, DH(EWE?) compliant, and the plot kind of got away from me. As in, it has one and so I'll be posting it in 5 chapters, at least 1/week, since it's almost entirely finished. I'll be reposting chap 1 to my LJ/IJ when the fest is over.

Uh huh! It rattled us too up here pretty sharply!

We keep getting little ones on the Hayward, so I'm really curious as to how that ties in.

How far away from it were you? Up here it Berkeley it just gave us a bit of a shake, still woke me up from the talk I was attending though! :D

Fun...? I could think of a few other ways I'd describe an earthquake, but let me just say I'm very glad we don't have them around here. ;)

Glad you are ok.
A week or so ago, a co-worker overnighting in Te Anau was woken at 0130 by one (he said later it was a 6.5 - locals I spoke to the next day sort of shrugged it off, but they're stoic down there!).
Cheers!

And here I thought I was the only one that thought earthquakes were fun!

Eeeep! Earthquake? You okay medear? Hope there was no damage done to you or yours.

Btw....had a bit of an accidental Ewan-fest last night. The Pillow Book was on C4, then I switched over and found the first episode of The Long Way Down. Yum!

We're on a pretty solid mountain of sandstone, so we only felt the big quake and none of the 'shocks.

Hope you and your house are all doing ok. :)

We're about 35 miles form where the epicenter is. Not too close at all, thank goodness.

Glad to hear the quake refocused you on your academics. How are you doing, with the move and classes and everything, btw?

Generally, they're just not a big deal, and no more exciting that a relaly close/loud crack of thunder. :)

I'm far more scared of big storms and tornados and stuff, myself. Heck, even snow. I guess it's what you're familiar with.

Totally fine - not even a crack in the plaster walls or cement driveway. :) I hear you guys get a lot more of them down there. I guess you just get used to them!

Nope, pretty much everyone I know is relaxed about them. After all, you can't prepare too much, they're rarely actually dangerous or damaging, and they're not *all* that super common - so why get your panties in a bunch worrying? :)

Totally fine, not a crack anywhere on the property. We are on a very solid mountain. :)

Yay for accidental Ewan! Wish I could have been there to squee and otherwise embarass myself in your company!

I'm doing okay thanks! It was pretty crazy at first, trying to get adjusted to a whole new country and university, whilst being expected to keep up with classes! Think I'm getting there now though, but it's just so insanely busy the entire time - there's just not so much to do at my home university! And it doesn't help that there's definitely more homework here. :P Hasn't been leaving much LJ time though, sadly!

I'm a northeast girl; fun is the last word I'd use to describe an earthquake. :-) I'm glad that you're all ok.

Just a little house-shaking -- no damage anywhere, not a single injury even at the epicenter, the news said. ;)

I guess it's what you're used to...

*hug*
