babble for the win

So... Life = busy. Brain = very much back and forth...
WIN = We saw Eddie Izzard on Saturday in SF and he was SO AWESOME! I never go to live shows of anything but this was great, definitely money well spent.
FAIL = My husband is now older. Which means that *I* will be getting older, too. I'm somehow more bummed about this bday than any other one I can remember. Probably because it;s been hard to see what exactly I've accomplished in the last three years...
WIN = Hellboy 2 was great! I have high hopes for the Hobbit.
FAIL = I have been working and working and working on this stupid shopping cart for my website and I *hate* it. Every step has involved about 4 hours of work I didn't schedule for. Today had 9 tasks. I accomplished one.
WIN = Been sleeping better, getting up earlier, getting to work, getting things done.
FAIL = Cramps. I mean, not the worst ever (no crying or vomiting), but no picnic.
WIN = Deciding today was a tiara day. Because life is just better when you're wearing the princess crown.
FAIL = I really want to start writing the next fic in my brain but I am SO SCARED to begin. Why? I'm not sure. Because the ideas aren't very fleshed out yet? Because writing anyhting long scares the bejesus out of me? Because I hate WIPs? Because the pressure to get the next chapter out gets to me? Because real life is crazy-busy and will be for the next month at least? Because I don't have a beta and really need someone to brainstorm with?
All of it, I guess.
Anyone wanna volunteer for chatting and/or betaing? Pretty please? With nakedsexyboys on top?
(I want to leave the plot as surprise, but I will say it's JA/JP, JA/JDM, set in at a university. More humor/smut than angst, overall.)

Shopping carts suck ass in a bad way. I remember doing those when I had an interwebs biz way back.
Will beta for sex.

Date: 2008-07-23 03:54 pm (UTC)But yesterday I took the daughter to the value Village for board shorts - she failed at finding those, but got a nice pair of cropped sweats and THE most GORGEOUS dressy sun dress - it's high-waisted, white with cherries smattered all over it, except the cherries are line green, with a wide lime green band under the boobs (OMG my daughter has boobs!!!) and it's strapless, but not in a slutty way. In an incredibly cute and wholesome way. And it goes to her mid-thigh (which would be around the knee on me...)
But that's not the bestest - although it's amazing and she's wearing it when we do the three-generation Mama Mia movie night out - I found myself a green peasanty skirt that's covered with sequins on the bottom two tiers. It starts with a yellowy green at the waist and fades to an olive green at the bottom, and the sequins are the rough-cut kind and gold - it's awesome!
So maybe I'll wear that today to cheer me up.

Date: 2008-07-23 05:49 pm (UTC)Also, Tiaras are ALWAYS made of win. I'm looking forward to my birthday because I always let myself wear a tiara on my birthday! I mean, I love the presents and the attention (can you tell I'm a Leo?), but my favorite part is the tiara!
Oh darlin'!! Just write! You know that we all love you and will adore whatever you write no matter what. And I promise not to send the mob out after you if it turns into a long-term WIP (I always think of disney's Beauty and the Beast when I think of mob scenes. When they've got the pitchforks and torches and are led by...a fancy little mirror. Tee!)
Mmmmmmm....boys in college...mmmmm

Date: 2008-07-23 08:22 pm (UTC)"Boy! Fetch me some Chinese food!"
"Yes, Princess."
(true excerpt from last night)
Getting started is always the hardest part for me. Luckily, I'm on my way. Thank you for the love and encouragement - not to mention the plot idea! I hope it meets your expectations. :)
(WIPs - I hear you. I'm torn between writing 10ish lengthy chapters, posted once a month or so... Or many short little pieces, posted once or twice a week, maybe. Frankly, I hate reading WIPs of any sort. Which format one bothers you less? Not that I'm promising anyhting, just askin'.)

Oh, I'm kinda a whenever-the-mood-strikes kinda girl. Mainly because I'm really bad about checking on WIPs, so if it is a planned day that I'm supposed to read, I feel guilty if I forget about it, but if it is a whenever thing, I'm always happily surprised when I see a new chapter! But that's just me. I'm sure that there are people out there who need more structure in their fic reading.

Date: 2008-07-24 12:39 am (UTC)Is the "pretty princess" thing from something that ever actually happened or was said in particular or is it just random fandom insanity?
Hmmm, I think I'm sensing a birthday party in the story... ;)
