I know, I know - I haven't been updating. I've been... weird. As if that's new.

1) OK, so is there anyone out there (you know who you are) who'd be willing to rec me the essential 2-3 songs that I *need* to listen to by Steve Carlson/Christian Kane/Kane/etc.? Please. I'll d/l them, so you don't even have to upload, just tell me which songs. Not too many though, because that's not really my type of music. It's "research", for the fic. Kinda. *is cryptic*

2) I finally watched "PS I Love You". I sorta see where the Gerry Butler thing comes from now, although frankly the backside of JDM pretty much totally wiped him out of my consciousness.

Also, I have Grey's Anatomy d/led and ready to go. Husband *so* does not get it. (Thinks it's an improvement over Jensen, though. *eyeroll*)

3) Also, can I call him Jeff? JDM is odd for saying out loud, and Jeffery Dean Morgan seems overly formal and weird to be using his full name all the time. Is that seriously how people refer to him? Seems odd.

4) I was going to wait to buy SPN Season 3 until the price dropped. But. *METALLICAR*. I think I might have to spend my allowance and get it nownowNOW.

Why? Because I'm easy.

Oh come on. You knew that.

5) Writing = finally happening. Thank the slashy gods. :)

6) I didn't use enough asterisks yet: **************************

There, that's good.

1) Pinata Novia is Steve Carlson's favorite song of his own (according to an announcement he made during a concert...he also said that he likes love songs in general, so..yeah). Ummm....if you go to Christian Kane's myspace, you can listen to More Than I Deserve which both of them wrote together. But just go here. That is my Steve Carlson tag. Bunches o' music for download and several moments of squee from me. I particularly love Spot In The Corner, One More Shot, One Thing, Don't Move On, All That I Ever Wanted. If you listen to Steve's newest album (which you can do by going to stevecarlson.com), the whole durn thing is pretty sad but oh so good. And you can listen to all his stuff there without having to download...and read all the lyrics!

2) JDM is pretty durn faboo, ain't he?! The ass and the tattoos and that SMILE! ROCKS MY WORLD! Oooh...and now GA! Be ready to cry and want one of your own.

3) I always think of him as Jeff in my head. But most people refer to him as JDM and I don't want people to get confused.

4) Can't buy it yet. But I wants it! The precioussss!

Plus...I'm amused that you are so addicted! Tee hee!

5) YAY!! Go you!!

6) I have no response to that.

Sorry I didn't get it to you last night...I was falling asleep at the computer. I know that you say that this isn't your type of music, but I do recommend giving it a try! But also, if you end up looking for some of the Kane music to reference, you are gonna have a hard time finding it for download from respectable places (not me!) because it's no longer available for purchase.

Also, if you wanna listen to Steve and Chris banter a bit back and forth, on the Acoustic in London album, it was just the two of them on stage and they talk between each set of songs.

Oh! And if you are wanting to say which ones Jensen was involved in, Come Around More Alabama is the most famous one. He did some background stuff for several other songs, but always with other people. So, it's hard to tell which voice is his. And of course, there is always his turns with Jason Manns and singing Crazy Love.

ANYWAY, here is my Carlson/Kane music folder. I haven't uploaded everything they've done, but that's a good bunch.

OMG you are so amazing! I downloaded a bunch of songs, and the acoustic folder (the banter will help with the writing).

Seriously, you are so generous and wonderful! What can I share/upload that you would be interested in? Music? Porn? I want to give something back. :)

1. Yay for song recs - and the the generous links! :) Thank you tons - I knew you'd have some favorites to recommend.

2. Be ready to cry and want one of your own. Noted = not to be watched when feeling hormonal. Dude needs to stop dying, is all I can say. No one that hot should be killed off.

Especially with a smile like that... GUH!

3. OK, so at least i know I can call him Jeff in the fic. Not Jeffrey. Not JDM. But yeah, it does clear stuff up online.

4. & 5. & 6. I live to amuse you. :)

1) Yeah, you totally knew I'd respond to this, didn't you?! Any chance for me to rec some Carlson music, I totally will. It's his phrasing. He write this stuff that is so good!! My faves?

From You Belong To Me:
I stare at your hair
Nothing compares
To the weight of the air
In the room when you're there

From One Thing:
We can do a raindance
Sail away to the south of France
You and me, we can set off to find more reasons for romance

From More Than I Deserve (co-written with Kane):
It's just your style to wear a smile
Oh and baby, you wear it well
If I had my way, I'd dress you in nothing else

And then my all time favorite line of his from Spot In The Corner:
Oh and one more thing, final words from a faithful king
Give me a child I can teach to sing to someone like you

And I'm gonna stop now before it gets to be too much here!!

2) But it's SO GOOD!!! I couldn't watch the episode where he actually died. In the episode before that, there was a scene that was all kinds of emotional and I was crying like a baby, so I decided that I couldn't watch the end, even though it wasn't too crazy/busy. It was a very simple death. But then, at least after, you have the episode where he comes back as a ghost and OH MY GOODNESS!!! It is amazing. The last few moments make you wanna cry all over again.

I listened to the acoustic album yesterday driving around and must admit that I was surprised at how much I liked it. :)

Today I'll listen to the just-Steve stuff. I do like his lyrics. Do both he and Chris write the Kane songs, or one does lyrics and one does music, or both do both collaboratively?

(Not that it matters; I'm just curious and lazy, so I'm bothering you. Feel free to slap me upside the head and tell me to check out some URL with all the answers. *g*)

GA - It'll have to wait until I'm less raw emotionally, I think. Now would not be a good time. Maybe next week.

Most of the Kane stuff is completely collaborative. There are a few songs that each of them write individually (One More Shot is all Steve and it makes me happy in my happy spots....I want to sing that song!), but when they work together, it is a good mix of the two of them. But once you get used to them, you can hear stuff that is obviously from one or the other.

But Steve's stuff is almost completely his own. There are a couple songs that he lists on his website as having a co-writer (including the two co-written by Jensen). And then there are the covers he does, but even those he makes his own.

It's really interesting how Steve's music in particular, and Chris's music also....it's just so good. I'm very serious when I say that Steve's music got me through spring semester. It was always something so comfortable to go back to when I'm having a rough day.
