I'm hideously behind on lj and haven't read anyone's posts in about two weeks. But I made it through the holidays!

I also finished one of my final projects and therefore one class is finished. Two more to go - I have until Feb 1st. The new semester starts Jan 20somethingth.

I also updated my web pages (oh, if my teacher only knew that I used everything she taught me to make web pages for pornographic fiction...) and answered a ton of feedback/fanmail/email.

The to-do list I made before I got sick is pretty much abandoned though...

-- Holiday shopping/stuff
-- finish V/O RPS fic
-- werewolf research
-- finish VS/Remus sequel
-- fix/make web pages now that I know how
-- edit VS and make it R rated and submit to FA
-- post unposted fics to Ink Stained Fingers
-- whore other HP fics and see if anyone will host them
-- reread OotP
-- decide if I want to edit/rewrite/find another beta for PotC fic
-- catch up on all the WIPs I love but have been ignoring
-- catch up on all the good recent HP fics I've been missing
-- make recs page for web site

Yeah... Well... Fuck. Maybe this summer. Although hand-html-coding all my HP fics made me realize how much I've done in the last year, and re-kindled my interest in Harry Potter fics... I reread some old favorites and even a few new ones over the last day or two.

I don't know how much of that list I'm going to get done, but School Comes First for Good Little Girls, so I guess that's that. (Unless of course, there are rewards, of a sort, for naughty little girls... must consult husband on that.)

End of year meme gacked from [livejournal.com profile] icarusanclion:

1. Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?

Way, way more. Last year at this time I'd almost finished writing "Virulentus Somnium" and I really didn't have any plans to keep writing more fanfic. I was very much in awe of all the cool people with their own websites and massive lists of fics.

2. What pairing (or genre or fandom) did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2003?

No surprising pairings, but I never thought I'd read Real Person Slash, let alone write it. What a joyful thing to have been wrong about. *g*

3. What's your favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest.

Hm. For Harry Potter-verse, I'd have to say I'm proudest of "Notes." For the summer flurry of Fests, I'm most happy with "Cavernam Lupercalem" by far.

In the other fandoms I've only solo-written one fic, and they're both WIPs, so I really can't count them. I do like part 1 of "Educational Endeavors" best so far, though.

4. Did you take any writing risks this year? (See above for unexpected pairings, etc.) What did you learn from them?

Writing for the Severus Snape Fuh-Q-Fest was a massive risk for me, putting my writing out there with all those other Big Name Writers in the Fest. And it was intimidating to work with a specific challenge and with a deadline.

I learned that if I'm trying too hard, it's best to just stop with a fic instead of forcing it. If I can't relate to the characters, then I need to start over because the readers won't either. And that sex can be really difficult to get right, and sometimes less is more.

I learned that I can't write non-con at all, not even shades of it. A

nd that writing kink makes me blush, even all alone in my office. *g*

5. Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?

I really want to try to get one chapter of EE done per month, or more.

And I do want to someday drag my lazy ass into the library and do some more werewolf research and write that damn sequel. Remus is beginning to prowl around the edges of my brain, nudging me. Not unlike my dog, just with more patience and sharper teeth...

And someday I want to write my medieval-bodice-ripper but I think that may be next year's Big Goal, since this year's is Finish My Fucking Degree. *g*
