OK, so I jumped into SPN fandom but held back on some aspects, made some rules, tried to have some limits.
You know what I'm bad at?
Limits.
So although I did not *intend* to watch other movies/TV that Jared and Jensen and Jeff were in, because OHBOY have I been burned and watched some true stinkers just because hot boys were in them (*coughPATHFINDERcough*)... Well... As a writer, I needed to hear more of their voices.
That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
So far I've watched Gilmore Girls, Dark Angel, PS I love You, Grey's Anatomy, Cheaper By the Dozen, Her Minor Thing, and Ten Inch Hero:
Gilmore Girls - This was OK through season 3, then you want to bash your head in. Or Jess'. Or Rory's. Or even Dean's, god love him. I'm at the beginning of season 4 and the Big Thing has happened and it's so unbearably awkward that I just can't even force myself to keep watching. I will. Soon. But not quite yet. *sigh*
Dark Angel - mini!Dean (from
ladykatiewench) is pretty awesomely funny and so hot that he *almost* makes up for how much this show TOTALLY SUCKS ASS. But not quite. I have about 4 episodes left to go, and again, I just haven't been able to force myself to slog through them. The last two I watched with my finger on the fast-forward button, waiting for Jensen to appear before I stopped. Like he's porn or something and I need to get to the good bits.
PS I love You - Not what I expected and actually a pretty good movie, I thought. I enjoyed it. I laughed, I cried, I ogled Jeff's naked ass. At least three times, thanks to rewind. It was worth watching. (The movie and the ass.)
Grey's Anatomy - I'm very conflicted about this one. I watched it while I was slipping deeper into depression and it made me sob with every episode (I only watched the ones with JDM). Yet, I never really understood why he liked Izzy or why she liked him, and he was kind of a bit of a dick. Charming as hell, but inappropriate. So I didn't fall in love with Denny like everyone else did. *shrug*
Cheaper By the Dozen - Actually not a terrible movie for a kid's film. Although I still can't quite believe that I watched the whole thing for about 3 lines from Jared. Ah well. At least Tom Welling is pretty. (And he's also in my huge epic fic, so that's how I justified this one.)
Her Minor Thing - I *really* liked this film! It was sort of dorky, independent-movie-ish, but fun. And although I for some reason expected to not like Christian Kane at all, I honestly, truly did. He was kind of awesome. And it was a cute movie, cute story (if somewhat preposterous that a girl who looked like that, who wasn't broken in some way, could ever still be a virgin in her mid-twenties.) And it was filmed in my husband's hometown, so that was kind of cool to see.
Speaking of movies filmed in my hometown...
Ten Inch Hero - Hardly any of this was actually shot in Santa Cruz! We are totally palm tree-less, but it was still kind of fun sorting out which locations were in LA-area and which were Big Sur and which were here. Anyway. Dear God, the plot was so clunky and anvilicious and yet also totally self-contradictory. It was like they couldn't quite decide what the message was that they were trying to hit me over the head with - something about being superficial, but they couldn't quite decide on what.
I confess, I hated most of the storylines. And I thought Priestly was way way WAY yummier before he changed. GUh. Jensen looking like that is pretty much my personal fantasy.
Well, one of them. I have a *lot* of fantasies with Jensen in them.
I would still see Blonde, The Accidental Husband, and possibly the Christmas Cottage or whatever they're calling it and New York Minute.
Maybe.
In conclusion? Jensen = porn.

Date: 2008-10-30 02:56 am (UTC)Cottaging - I know, I read your review. I mean, I've had my concerns since the beginning because seriously - Thomas Kincade? He needed a biopic? WTF were they thinking when that got green-lighted?
But it might be fun to MST3K it... As I do with GG and DA. Because it's fun to be mean. ;)
