Friending memes have gone around the footie comms a couple of times and I always find them vaguely teriffying. A 20 year old will put it up and suddenly all these girls are announcing that they're 15, 16, 17... In a public post. And there are legally adult women writing and posting slash there for their perving pleasure. LOL

I do get a little weirded out when I find out someone under 18 is reading my naughty fics... Then again, "literature" is not subject to the movie-ratings rules, and I support that very strongly, even while I do label my fics. I know I was certainly reading explicit sexual content when I was a teenager, so I just try not to think about it too much. ;)

Really?! I think my big concern is that this was right about the time of the LJ Witch Hunts when they were banning users and making people (well trying to) label posts as having 'adult content'.

So you don't think they can ban a comm for adult fics of there are underage members?

Live Journal is a business and it certainly can and has enforced it's own rules. I meant that statement about literature in the wider-universe and my sense of personal ethics. If someone has an age statement saying they are over 18, then I feel that it's no business of mine what age they actually are. ;)
