Why I Love Porn meme
Nov. 21st, 2008 12:01 pmSomeone started this in an email thread and I thought it should be brought over to LJ:
Why do you love porn?
Comment here, post in your own blog, whatever. I think everyone should play. :)

I like porn because...
I like seeing private moments revealed.
I like to imagine what the subjects might be thinking or feeling, what I would think or feel in their place(s).
I like to use the subjects as physical substitutes for the characters in my head, especially the ones I'm writing, who I would love to watch having sex. Or have sex with.
Hmm... Apparently I'm just a big pervy voyeur.
You probably already knew that. :)

Date: 2008-11-22 06:37 am (UTC)I think my answer is different when reading it or writing it. And yet different again when watching porn. I'll give a couple of answers for each.
Reading porn:
I enjoy reading porn that is more than just porn. I like hot nasty PWP, but I am a sucker for some schmoopy PWP where the characters are motivated for their love or strong feelings for each other.
I love m/m slash because it seems to me that guys don't play as many games as the heroines in your classic trashy romance novels. Believe me, I have read my share of those and the formula got so fucking old and always had to do with some dumb, virtuous young woman who couldn't come to terms with her sexuality or had been a victim previously. The m/m stuff I like to read NEVER includes non-con, rape, or hurt/comfort. I just love m/m where the guys can be straight up and even if there are some bumps in the road before they can hook up permanently they seem much less formulaic than het trashy romance. And the guys fucking LOVE sex and they don't apologize for it.
Writing:
I like to imagine in my head a scenario and really try to figure out what each character would be feeling, what they are saying, what emotions, and physical things they are going through in each instance, each scene. I like that I can picture them in my minds eye and I am in charge, I write the scene and they do what I tell them to do. I get to run the show. I find that I somehow end up writing scenes where I distinctly identify with one particular character, but I love that I can then write the other partner doing or responding to the character that I am identifying with in the way that I would in my fantasies want them to.
Watching:
I'm not overly into watching straight porn m/f, or even f/f. I enjoy watching m/m porn or masturbation porn m or f. I love watching men or women masturbating. I love to masturbate personally and I find it very arousing to watch other people get themselves off. In the m/m I like, it seems like I kind of like where they identify themselves as committed partners and don't need to use condoms. I somehow have a fixation with watching men come in each others asses and then keep fucking until the come is dripping out. I fucking love that. I have no idea where in the world that comes from, but I think it may have something to do with a fic that I read recently. It is so visual and seeing the bodily fluids makes me better able to feel what I am watching.
Anyway, those are a few of the things that I like about reading, writing and watching porn. Thanks for asking.

Amen to that! Me too. :) Also, I love how two decades of safe-sex has led to bodily fuilds being a kink. Interesting world we live in, huh?
I thought it was an interesting question - glad you did too. :)
