Good Things:

1) Just planted 2 lbs of bulbs - tulips, daffodils, crocus, and hyacinth-somethings. The first two in a trench, the others in pots. It's an experiment to see if the gophers eat them all. I used to love gardening. Then we bought this house (8 years ago in January) and everything I loved died due to sand, heat, gophers, and deer. Finally, I am trying again.

2) Did I mentioned I finally got a PT job? I was afraid to say anyhting at first in case I hated it, but it's working out ok. Money = good.

3) Weight loss = very slow (3 lbs/month) but at least I'm not gaining. And I'm actually looking forward to doing my belly dance dvds, since I re-found them last week.

4) The new routine is difficult, but I think once I finally adjust, it will be good. Having to be dressed and interact with people on a regular basis means I can't fiddle around and procrastinate.

4a) In the last two weeks, I've finished another two chapters on the novel. Ten down, twenty-six to go! My goal is one per week, minimum. And yes, this is the Jensen-graduate-student story.

5) Never underestimate the joy of being able to breathe through both nostrils. I don't think I've ever had a cold that was that bad for six days in a row. Blech.

6) It's soup season! And flannel sheets! And cuddling with the boy and beast! Yay!

7) Why yes, I *am* feeling a bit Pollyannaish. Life is good. :)

I got the arts/craft gene from mom, my sister got the green thumb gene, and don't ever ask us to switch because the results are not pretty.

Congrats on the PT job and your weight loss! Yes, it's slow going, but like you said, at least you're not gaining.

Speaking of soup, hubby fixed Mexican Soup for us today. It's overcast and drizzly here today, and it hit the spot!

I can't wait to read your newest offering! You know I'll read anything Jensen-related!

YUm! I made a minestrone that's actually just veggie soup (I don't like the pasta), but I started so late it'll have to be tomorrow's dinner.

I'm not planning to post here until the story is complete, but it's the one I've been sharing on shiny. :) I hope you like it! *hug*

Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to go back through the threads there and snag it. I changed my group email setting awhile back because I was tired of my email being inundated by all the chit-chat. I wonder what else I've missed. :(

You've been a great motivator. Gentle, yet persistent. And you set a fabulous example. :)

It's funny, but I didn't notice I didn't list any Bad Things until just now. Even the cold is mostly gone, so life is certainly looking up. And thank you for the love. *hug tight* :)

Good luck with 1, 2 and 3 and congrats on the job!

Having to be dressed and interact with people on a regular basis means I can't fiddle around and procrastinate.

Yep, that works for me, too.

And yay for you writing, I can't wait. :D

*hugs* I hope life continues to be good for you. ♥

I am okay. Off work this week and trying to catch up on things. It makes me happy being here with you guys, so I'm going to try and not let it slide *again*. We're going to miss you too this Christmas. If I had the money, I'd be on your doorstep. ;) *hugs*
