1) Having utterly failed *twice* to make a scarf that doesn't get narrower by 2 inches as it goes up, I will now attempt to knit (crochet) socks. No, I have never made anyhting other than scarves. No, I don't have a pattern. Why do you ask?

2) Jillian Michaels' workout dvd nearly killed me and literally made me have a crying breakdown. Today I am trying the "10-15 min of exercise 2-3 times a day" approach instead. If it works on The Biggest Loser, maybe it can work for me.

3) Hawaii 5-O is fun. SGA is eternally wesome. Community is lvoely. Big Bang Theory is hilarious. I'm eager for more White Collar and Burn Notice. Chuck and Leverage also. But SPN? Haven't wtched it since October and don't miss it. Oops. Bad fangirl - so fickle.

4) Xcentricities has models who are not tiny, and includes "plus sizes" as a standard option. Therefore, they will be getting my money once I reach my goal. I think I'm going for this black and white, with side panels, only the simple sweetheart design, not the corest dress. Thoughts? Will black & white look terrible on my deathly-pale skin?

5) Is it naptime yet?

Being also deathly pale, you should be OK with that amount of white, there's enough black (and red) to keep you with some colour. Beware the corset lacing, though. If you have any body fat and lace directly across your bare skin with an open panel as in the shot, it can itch like buggery. Buy a proper flat corset lace from a corset supply place for a comfier alternative!

Good point. I usually wear a liner under corsets, since I hate how the bare-skin strip looks, and also beucase it's easier to wash a tube top than get sweat out of a corset. But I hadn't thought about possible mini-rope burn and you are so right - that would hurt!

1) My knitting looks like that, too. I've been working on the same scarf for months now.

2) Was it the 30 Day Shred dvd? Because I'm afraid to even open the package on that one.

3) I don't know...SPN doesn't feel the same. I don't care anymore whether I see it or not.

4) You will look beautiful in black & white.

5) Anytime is nap time, for reals.

*g* Knitting is one of those deceptively easy things, I guess. Blech. I'd rather write.

It was the 30-day shred! I suppose it's great if you're already relaly fit and want to define muscle groups. Less good if you'd like to lose 80+ pounds. Ah well. I'll try another dvd - I've got lots to sample.

*smooch* Thank you! :)

That fail!hat that I made was the one that I restarted 4 times. I got through it all and it still failed. Sigh.

Hi Salix!

I've been knitting quite a bit lately - like you I started with scarves and now I have moved onto baby blankets, dish clothes and I have even made two sweaters.
Everything I needed to learn I got from youtube. I've never tried socks - hope that goes well.

I also tried a Biggest loser workout - a cardio one that starts off with 20 mins by the male trainer - can't remember his name - Bob??
Any way - that kicked my ass - now I switched to a Kathy Smith walking & weights video - 40 mins - just enough to get me sweating and feeling pretty tired the next day.

Here's to reaching goals!
Cheers -

Youtube! What a great idea, since the directions I've read make no sense at all, but someone *showing* me would totally work. Thanks! :)

Oooh, I'll try to find that workout, and the Kathy Smith one. Mostly I've been going through al lthe random ones I've acquired over the eyars, and WOW - some are ust way way way beyond me.

GOod luck to you!

OMG I love that dress! Good luck w/getting to your goal.
I'm back at Weight Watchers so I feel for ya.

And I second the knitting lessons on YouTube thing. I learned most of what I know that way because the gal who got me into it started grad school soon after & had no time.

I like the dress too. :) I actually tried it on at a convention and while I loved it, I had to admit I'd get more use out of a regular corset (not to mention saving a few hundred dollars).

I'll see if I can find a sock thing on youtube - I never would have thought to look there, so thanks for the tip.

Haha now I'm hoping to see pics of your finished socks. I never finish anything I crochet; I really just do it to calm my nerves, and pull out everything after. It drives my mother up the wall.

I've been trying to walk twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. So if I miss a time-spot, I'd have gotten SOMETHING in, you know?

I love the Big Bang Theory, I think it's pretty funny. That black and white dress is lovely!

In my world, it is always time for naps. :D

Hahaha! I love it beucase that's exactly what I do, or at least, the purpose I use it for. The final outcome is wholly irrelevant. Although, if the socks turn out, that would be nice. ;)

Two walks sounds like a good plan. I've been doing a decent job of taking the dog out every other day and doing a workout dvd on the others. Walking is mroe fun, though.

*hug* *cuddles up for a nap with you*

I have been exercising every day in January and feel no better for it. In fact, I think it makes me grumpy. ;) I miss Leverage and hope season three starts here soon. I've not seen any of the new season of Supernatural. It'll keep. ;)

That dress is very cool.

In conclusion: Mmm, naptime. Yes please.

Oh noes! Maybe you need a more "fun" activity like dance or walking outside? Just a thought. Or jog while you watch TV - eveyr time the Leverage team runs around, you jog in place? :)

Naps FTW

I think you could be right. Sometimes I just think my brain is broken. ;) Those endorphins, they never get the happy messages through. I think part of the problem is, I can't do a few things because of my knee. I can't dance much or jog/run or do anything that puts weight solely on one leg. Yesterday I was all excited about going to New York and I started bouncing and then almost fell over because my bad leg collapsed. ;) Walking outside is good though, and that does help, so I think I need to do that more. Apologies for the ramble! *hugs*
