Having an odd weekend so far... The anniversary trip was canceled. Good HP movie. Then we saw "Love Actually" and damn, I really needed to see my own fears and pain about infidelity portrayed so vividly. Yeah, that cheered me right up. Back into a good mood with chocolate fondue. Back into bad with sleeping in separate beds. Back into good with plans to go hiking tomorrow...

Is any one actually interested in Big Sur pictures? If so, post and let me know, otherwise I'm not going to spend the time making them all pretty and web-friendly.

(you're/your) Isn't that one just the most annoying thing EVER?!?!?!
And my otehr major gripe is when people use an apostrophe for third person neutral posession (its/it's)

I confess, sometimes I fuck up its/it's, but I at least -know- I fuck it up, so I try to be careful with it. Stupid English and its stupid rules! ;)

I love the English language, and all its (teehee) little quirks. The twisted rules and breaking of those rules is what makes it so fricking cool!

I don't ever confuse the your/you're thing anymore, I'm keeping a close watch over the it's/its thing, and English is my fourth language. I really don't get how native speakers fuck that one up. I always think it's kind of unfair when a popular author does that and nobody says anything, because for me it's such an important thing to do the English right.

Sheer laziness, I assume. Although I am MUCH more careful about trying not to fuck up other languages than I am with English. I think with fanfic it's a combination of typos that aren't spotted and the assumption that "it's just fan-fiction" and therefore it's more acceptable to use lAmE netspeek type spelling and crap like that.

Me, opinionated? ;)
