At some point I realized that I'd collected a bunch of images that were neither porny nor funny, but instead made me sit back and think for a moment. Pause. Reflect. Since usually my brain is a lot like a hamster on crack, this Moment of Pausing is something I want to encourage for 2012.

So for a while, at least, I'll be posting one image on Sundays. A thing to think about, a message to share with my friends, loved ones, the universe.

Oh, I love this! What a wonderful idea of posting on Sunday these bits of your collection! Firda was different, which is what made her so awesome. I only wish that other people who were different would read this and feel the same. Thank you for giving me another day to look forward to!

I like to think of this as one of the miracles of the internet - making it easier for all of us strange people to find each other. :)

Sometimes we need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. We are unique yet the same. We are not the first to think something is wonderful, hard, painful, simple, or anything...

We sometimes think we are alone, yet while there is some truth to it, maybe in that time, in that moment, but we should still keep in mind that there is someone else, maybe not going through the exact problem, issue, event, etc, but they have the ability to feel the same things we do, and in that, we aren't alone.

Frida is another of my sheros.

It's fascinating how people see celebrities and the wealthy - as perfect and content, living carefree lives, loving themselves. And it's so false.

On the other hand, I think that a lot of Frida's genius sprang from her feelings of estrangement and also from her physical pain. Funny how such impediments can become your gifts.

*snoodles you*

I quite enjoyed the biopic that came out about a dacade (or two?) ago. I didn't know anyhting about her before then and she was quite fascinating. Lots of saddness in her life...

I'm glad she found some strange people to connect with. :)

I watched her bio-movie a few years ago and was very intrigued. :)
