I downloaded this pdf about 3 weeks ago and finally just read it. It's the first food article I've ever read and agreed with over 90% of, especially the part on "Fuck Willpower":

If you struggle to "do the right thing" when it comes to food, you're not a sloth; your rational brain is just over-booked. Your self-control is busy preventing you from stabbing your boss, shoplifting, and running red lights.

Thus, "willpower" won't help you much when it comes to eating. It's an overdrawn bank account.

(If you want to read it but don't want to sign up, ask and I'll email you the pdf. I have not had ANY spam from them, though, so I think ti's safe.)

I love this quote, because I have zero willpower where food is concerned. I know what I'm supposed to do, but I never manage to do it for more than two or three days :(

Can I get the PDF? I'll send you my email address by PM.

Thank you for the url. I'm gonna try to get it myself, but will let you know if it doesnt work out for me. I appreciate the gesture, and yes, I have no willpower, but now I understand where it all goes!

After reading it, I think there are a few changes I cold and should be taking for this new year.... And I was like crying for half of this... It actually hit something in me, and felt like it was finally getting through...

I think for me, the main thing I'm taking out of it right now is a determination to SLOW DOWN. Also to eat at the table, not the computer or tv.

Little steps. ;)

It's a lot of info, but I agreed with almost all of it. Slow down. Listen to your body. Stop fretting. One small change at a time. :)

Thanks for this. I think it's something I really need to read so I signed up to get it.

I read somewhere that the three signs you're overstressed are overeating, overspending & driving too fast. It's helped a little to know that, but not enough. Every little bit helps, yeah?
