that questions thing
Jun. 13th, 2003 11:34 amQuestions from
maruchina:
1. Would you rather write Hagrid/Dobby or Lucius/Hermione?
I think my brain just cringed as I tried to picture either... I think I'm allergic to het though, so I'd have to say that while I'd RATHER scrub the scum off the back of the toilet than do either, my choice is Hagrid/Dobby. Is that what I'm going to be forced to write in Hell?
2. How many personalities do YOU have?
Oh... Several. The angsty teenager. The nice-mother/friend/self-nurturer... The sex goddess. The cruel evil bitch with the whip. The total slacker. The academic intellectual. The whiner. The vain redhead. And on and on and on...
3. If you could speak any language, which one would it be and why?
All of them? When I was in high school, I had this fantasy that I would learn every language ever, spoken and written... These days I would find it useful to read Latin smoothly... And maybe German... As self-centered as it is in this multi-cultural world, I seem to get by fine with English and a smattering of French, Italian, and Spanish. I hate that everyone else is obligated to learn English, but it does make my life easier that I can almost always fine someone who speaks enough to help me out.
4. Vivaldi or Mozart?
Hm. I confess to a general love of everything by Mozart, but I find myself listening to Vivaldi more often lately. He has some lovely clarinet pieces.
And least you think I'm all into classical music - I don't know anything about music! I've been listening to the classical radio station over the last year or so trying to learn more. So far all I know is that I'm always tickled by the name of the group "the Academy of Saint Martin in the Fields" - I always picture a fat friar-Tuck type dancing around a field of buttercups!
5. What's your favourite word in the English language?
Do ellipses count as a word? I thought not. Um. I'm very fond of the word exquisite. And voluptuous. And luscious. Obsequious. Good mouth-feel words. As for any deeper meanings... I spend too much time looking up etymologies in the OED to have any that jump out in particular... Maybe dilettante, since that's the most recent that I looked up. And credenza has a good story behind it. I guess those are all Latin words though, with soft sounds... I suppose that while I enjoy the harsh, abrupt Anglo-Saxon words, especially for sex, I don't think of them as favorites. How elitist of me.
I forgot the part about if you want me to ask you questions, reply and let me know!
