Watched "the Island" last night and had a few dreams about clones and harvesting, but not quite nightmares. Thankfully, this means I can now read [livejournal.com profile] heartofslash's The Island 100 fics, Lincoln/Laurent. UNK.

Also, I've hijacked [livejournal.com profile] telesilla's conversation about feedback and the whys of it, for which I apologize, but it's something I've been thinking of a lot lately and I can't stop myself from commenting. Sorry.

Have decided *not* to watch the ending of "BrokeBack Mountain" since I'd rather pretend Ennis wised up, the boys moved to SF, were monogamous and missed that whole AIDS thing, and lived happily ever after.

Back to work tomorrow. Don't want to go. *cries*

"My Sweet Rose" by John William
Waterhouse

You are a highly sensitive
being. You are altruistic and compassionate.
You feel everything ten times more so than
ordinary mortals. Your soul cries at pain and
your heart sings sorrow with death. You are a
rare and selfless person who will gladly
sacrifice themself to save another.

Which beautiful pre-Raphaelite painting represents you? (9 beautiful photos)

*snort* And so very modest and humble, too.

I watched The Island last night too...much better than I thought it would be.

I read the thread on feedback...I agree with a lot of what was said with the exception of writing a bigger/more popular pairing/fandom just to get more feedback. But that might be because I can't do it. Just like I can't read a pairing I don't particularly care for, I can't write it. I've (kind of) accepted that my BanaBlooms won't ever get as much feedback as ViggOrli, but that's the way it goes.

And...OMFG! I saw Brokeback Mountain a few days ago...I was completely gutted and exhausted at the end of the film. I'm such a pansy with the angst. I think I'll take your alternate ending. Too make myself feel better, I went to see Munich again. Not an altogether uplifting movie either, but in the second viewing I could just concentrate on Eric and his hair.

To be fair, I wasn't saying that was a good or right thing to do, just that if you want more feedback, that's one way to go about getting it. Believe me, I get where you're coming from when you talk about writing the pairing your want to write even though you won't get the same feedback you might get if you wrote the more popular pairing. I'm in the same boat. *grins*

I'm sorry, I think I chose my words poorly. I didn't think you were saying it was good or right thing. I was thinking the same thing, that its not good or right, the thought just got jumbled. Blame it on a long New Years Eve recovery ;-)

I'm in the same boat. *grins*

we'll get them, one reader at a time *wink*

Oh no need to apologize. :) It's just that I worry that it looks like I'm saying that people should write what's popular.

The good thing about writing something more obscure is that once you do get people who like the pairing, they'll become very dedicated readers, so we have that going for us.

It's really distracting commenting on Salix's journal because I keep staring at her background. *giggles*

And god bless the dedicated readers. Without *some* fb I think I'd simply stop.

I'm not sure if that's a threat or a promise, to some people. ;)

And I have the same problem... My eyes don't know where to focus.

Once again...you're reading my mind.

"I'm not sure if that's a threat or a promise, to some people."

What it is, is a way for me to make sure I get to read more of your yummy fic. I have the key now *wink*

:-) I understand that, meaning gets lsot when you can't hear someone's tone of voice.

Bless the dedicated readers, you are so very right. Don't know where I'd be without them.

Salix's journal is such a lovely view...

I'd forgotten everything about The Island except Ewan being in it. Because I'm kind of a whore that way.

Just like I can't read a pairing I don't particularly care for, I can't write it.

See, I read everything. But some things hold my interest better than others. And usually rare pairings are written by people who *wanted* to see that pairing, and write something interesting because *they* are interested in it.

I'm such a pansy with the angst.

Yeah, me too. And I realized there wasn't any good reason to go make myself depressed.

Ooh, Munich.. Can't wait to see that. :)

Loved when the Scottish accent came out...

Ok...you got me there. Maybe I should try a few paritings outside my favorites.

Eric in Munich is beyond delicious...yeah, yeah, yeah...good movie, his acting was great...but his hair was fucking AWESOME...and I ofund freckles on his shoulders, which thankfully are naked a few times...

Does that mean our orgasms are 10 times better, too?

I have no problem with you making lots of comments on the feedback post. My meta posts are designed to get people thinking and discussing stuff, so feel free to hijack all you like.

uhm, I will just go and pretend that this was not a spoiler. haven't read any comments in fear of them. we'll get BBM in march and i haven't read the shortstory, so i'm not quite sure if it actually is a spoiler, or in how far, but uhm, yeah. tell me it wasn't one? :S

Ack! I'm sorry! I forgot that Europe wouldn't get the movie for a few more months. :(

Not much of a spoiler, I hope. And you'll forget by then anyway. ;)

Yeah, we're always the ones who have to wait forever for the movies to get here and when we do everyone else has seen them already and forgot about them again already. Plus we get spoilered :P But it's okay, no big deal, it was still kinda vague enough. I'll try my best to forgot it, but somehow little unuseful information tidbits like that tend to stick to my brain while I forget all the other important things. That sucks. *g*
