for
soar38, who asked if witches do anything special for solstice:
I sure do! Usually I take the day off of work for both Midsummer and Yule (and the day after Samhain, so I can sleep in). Usually I try to have a day without electricity and spent as much time outside as possible for Midsummer.
This year, well, it was a bit different because of work/health/poor planning, and I spent a lot of time at my home computer. But I did take the day off of work. I did some yoga outside and spent some time meditating in the sun, soaking in some much-needed energy. I did something new, and assisted
sarafoop with some childcare for an hour, taking her toddler for a long walk down to the cliffs/lighthouse promenade. It was great to feel the sun and hear the waves crashing.
Although I did break the no-technology rule, I at least *did* work on my resume and cover letter, hopefully using the "changing of the year" and full-moon energy to help me make some changes happen in my life.
And then my coven got together in the evening and we did some work with symbols and gave ourselves henna "tattoos". :)
