Well, I've always wondered and now, thanks for
bitofaspaz, I know:

How much are you worth in bed?
(As an interesting test, I took it again and said I was a guy. I'm worth $92/hr less with a cock. Odd.)
1) It's been over 6 months now and it seems like the fear-level is back down to green and no one's too freaked about LJ shutting them down anymore, now that it's been bought by those nice Russians. And Insane Journal seems like it caught on with the HP crowd, but not anyone else, and the other things like ScribLit are still in process.
Anyone have anything to say about this? I was dead set against giving LJ any more of my money, but now that there's no replacement and they seem to have backed off on the draconian TOS-crap... I don't wanna lose my icons and stuff.
2) You know what I've been thinking I like the best on LJ communities lately? The daily newsletters. I've stopped reading most communities and only check out the fics recced or listed on the newsletters, for both HP and SPN.
I think the VigOrli and RPS-in-general fandoms needed a newsletter. I might not have entirely stopped reading if someone had filtered through it all for me. There were just too many archives and communities and whatnot to keep up with it all.
3) I'm on season 2 of Supernatural, and am having the urge to re-watch eps to really make sure I don't miss anything. But I should probably just be plowing through them and get caught up, right? I think I have fear of being current and then having to wait a WHOLE WEEK to see what happens next.
I haven't been current with a tv program in ... God. Since the President's daughter was kidnapped on West Wing? Or maybe season 1 of Lost? I get impatient, and thanks to a massive backlog of shows to watch, I tend to just wait and do the whole season all at once. I'm all about immediate gratification here, people.
And yeah, that goes for in bed, too, just to round out the post. ;)

Date: 2008-03-04 10:15 pm (UTC)ah yeah, but that's when you re-watch all the old episodes.
Again and again and again and again :P
And that way you'll be less likely to get spoiled if you hurry and catch up :D Like this awesome Sam icon I have... wouldn't it be fun if you knew what episode that was from and could laugh just seeing it because it reminds you just how funny that whole episode was :P hehe

Date: 2008-03-05 06:15 pm (UTC)Ah well. Live and learn. :) I suspect the real reason it didn't catch on was because the infinte actor-slash possibilities don't lend themselves to a single comprehensive RPS fanlist. I mean , just my own "newsletter" would include actors from LOTR, Troy, POTC, Star Wars, SPN, bandslash, etc etc etc. Of course, the SPN one includes RPS and FPS, which might be the best way to go...

Date: 2008-03-05 12:26 am (UTC)I love the newsletters that have been put in place. Like you I only check them for most things. Makes it so easy to catch everything. I'm not sure the VO fandom would benefit really. There's not much fic anymore to really catch and if there is you only need a few main communities to get it all. Perhaps if it hit a resurgence it could benefit.

Date: 2008-03-05 06:17 pm (UTC)I don't think LOTRPS is going to seriously revive any time soon. It was more a "that would have been nice, three years ago" kind of thing. But As I noted in my comment above, RPS is too diverse for that to actually work, most likely. Ah well.
