Things have been kind of icky but not in a dramatic sort of way. No loss of life or mass destruction of personal property, so we'll just go forward from here, yeah?

Right then...

1. When is "twilight" exactly? I think I'm going to devote the next few weeks to the study of what exact shade of darkness the sky must achieve to be considered "twilight".

(This sort of makes me sound deep, but I think mojitos might be called into play. So don't be fooled.)

2. I am now caught up on Torchwood. Wow. Just... wow. I'm all wibbly now.

3. Country western songs should not be allowed at Jazzercize class. Nope, not even the "funny" ones about getting a new girlfriend and being nauseating. Just no. You can make me dance around but you cannot make me stop rolling my eyes. :P

4. My September trip to London has been pushed back to December. Anyone have any comments on why this is way more awesome than going in the summer and/or going to be an utter disaster and I should try to reschedule again?

5. Self marketing = such deep hatred. No, seriously.

6. Today I took a test at the county building to see if I was capable of being a library clerk. Not only did I pretty much ace the test, but I also watched a very invigorating game of basketball, shirts versus skins.

And when I say "invigorating", I mean that in the most lustful-drooling-"OMFG did you see that *one* guy???"-OMGhipdivots kind of way.

Thus proving that not only am I capable of sorting out complex numerical and alphabetical files, but that I can do it while perving over hot manflesh at the same time.

Why? Because I rock at multitasking. Clearly.

7. And finally this... It might be snobby, but it's also so very much 100% totally true:

First off: *hugs*

4. It's off season and things are usually cheaper in off season. It'll be rainy, but then, it could be rainy in September too; this is England we're talking about.

7. Totally and utterly true!

*smooch* Things are SO MUCH BETTER now that the b/c pills are mostly out of my system. Sorry you guys caught the tail end of the fogginess during our visit.

Off-season should be fine, from what I'm hearing in other comments. And saving money is always a good thing! :)

(It's not *our* fault if we're from the most awesome state in the country.)

Because the Christmas decorations at Harrods are fucking awesome. And it might snow. And it's brilliant wearing a hat and walking through darkness, snow and Christmas lights in London. It's much more 'Dickensian'. (Am I allowed to use 'fucking' and 'Dickensian' in the same paragraph?)

I get your map, except for the 'coffee'. I think. Something in the back of my mind says 'Seattle', but I don't know why.

Whoo! I'd forgotten about the possibility of decorations. Those will be a lot of fun to see. And hats! I could wear a hat! *happydance* :) I'm all excited about it now!

I'm sure there was all kinds of fucking during Dickensian times - brothels were all over, no? Thus, you may combine the words any time, imo. *g*

(Coffee = Seattle = where Starbucks came from originally, I think.)

Well, you'll get cold and probably rain (snow unlikely in london) in December but you're not guaranteed good weather in september either. On the other hand it'll be (a bit) less crowded and the cristmas decorations around town can be pretty. Depends on what you're planning to do really.

Yay Torchwood! Now you can join the rest of us waiting impatiently for more *mopes*

I can handle cold and rain, I was just afraid of snow up to my knees, no working transit, and everything fun being closed. Like museums and plays and stuff. And friends being busy with family. But we'll go and see and I bet it will be a ton of fun, no matter what. And I bet the decorations will be awesome. Just think - not one light-strewn palm tree in all of London, I bet. :)

Now I'll get caught up on Dr. Who. And Then start biting my nails waiting for mroe TW.

Museums plays and stuff are year round and a good way to hide from the cold and rain. For snow up to the knees try Yorkshire, can't remember last time we had snow that heavy if it's a couple of inches deep and settles for more than an hr then everybody is outside trying to make snowmen and taking photos ;p

The no working transit can happen at any given time for many and varied rreasons leaves on the line and the wrong kind of snow being a couple of old favourites but there's usually alternatives, the times when it's best to just stay in bed is when the tube network is down which only happens when either someone tries to blow us up (not as common as you'd think) or they go on strike (not that common either *touch wood*).

Ah yes Doctor Who so are you going for New!Who or trying to get the whole 30 odd yrs of the classic series as well? ;p Is it saturday yet? *twitches*

I'm far more a newWho fan. I've seen some of the old ones with Tom Baker but they are *so slow*. I like Nine and Ten a lot more.

LOL! OMG, that map is so true! I am a religious nutball, apparently. I am always irritated that Chicago gets forgotten as a MAJOR CITY. And not just by Californians. If we counted our suburbs the way LA does, we'd still be "Second City". Damn cheaters. Heh.

Although honestly I have to confess to some of those generalizations myself...:P

I am sooo behind on Torchwood and haven't even started the Doctor Who yet. *cries* There just aren't enough hours in the day. Gah.

Self-marketing sucks. I agree.

The complex library math whilst perving is Jedi-level librarian skills, must say. I always loved at my former library job where my desk faced several tinted windows to the outside--the outside, where gorgeous teenage boys leaned, preened, and lifted up their shirts to adjust their falling-off jeans in front of mirrored glass they forgot anyone was on the other side of. *G*

Hip!divots...*thud*

Sorry about that - you're quite right that Chicago gets dissed. And yet, as a Californian, I can't say that I knew it was that big. ;)

I'm a full season behind on Dr. Who. I guess now that I'm done with TW, I'll get started on it.

Who knew the Jedi were such pervs? I'm glad to be among them. (Those robes just cover all kinds of naughty undies, you know. *g*)

4. In London during December David Tennant is going to be being hamlet and I turn 27.

September in London can only be described as "nondescript" while December is a bit more exciting and chaotic

I like that graph, even if I am one of the loud New Yorkers. It's OK. To us, all you Californians are annoying blond hippy surfers. The rest of the graph, we agree on together.

And congrats on your library test, and the eye-candy. Yummy. Books and hot men. What's not to like?

Date: 2008-06-26 03:07 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] salixbabylon.livejournal.com
Well, I'm naturally dishwater blond and kind of a hippy, so two out of three. No surfing though, as I'm terrified of sharks.

Books **OF** hot boys = even better. I should try to work in (or start) a porn library. ;)

Um...I would get a library card for your porn library the day it opened. I'd probably be waiting outside, along with hundreds of others. It would be like when the Wii came out, all over again.

There were some timing conflicts with the other people who own the flat and when their kids had vacation time, and we could either have 10 days in September or 3 weeks in December. So I think it's going to be a Dickensian Xmas. ;)

Hip divots = drool catchers

I keep almost abandoning slashy home makers. But I can do a theme for you. :)

TOnight or tomorrow - ok. I should be home all day tommorrow except 5:30-7:30 my time.

on number 4 there is always the chance of seeing David Tennant doing Hamlet in the West End and also Burn Gorman is playing Bill Sikes in Oliver from December aswell.

Both good reasons to go to london in December

Okay for DT in Hamlet it's going to be hard as it is a limited season the RSC members presale is open now and a lot of the tkts will go then. Public booking opens in Sept (12th I think) and you will have to be very quick. Having said that managed to get great seats for Lear through the public booking even if did have to spend an hr hitting the redial button!

Oliver is on sale now and booking up fast so if you want to go best to pick a date and get the tkts asap.

Oh and Barrowman panto tkts also on sale - your best bet is going to be a weekday matinee as a lot of the shows are sold out already

And I know way too much about this *facepalm*
