Things I have learned or rememebred tonight:

1) You know how in movies or comics sometimes someone is inhaling and then smoke comes out their nose in two streams, like a dragon? This is totally real beucase I accidentally did it tonight. It hurt less than I thought it would. It was funny as hell.

2) The purple in my bathroom is named "splendifirous" on the paint chips. I'd forgotten that. It's a really good royal purple. It's *SPLENDIFIROUS*!

3) If you're trying to smell your bubble bath, be careful not to stick your nose in the bubbbles beucase it tickles and snorts and burns a little bit and then there are a few sad moments from the choking before everyhting is happy bathtime again.

4) Wouldn't it be a really great idea if, the year everybody turned 18, they weren't allowed to wear pants? LIke, for the whole 12 months, no pants - kilts and skirts only. Wouldn't that be *awesome*? I think it would be *awesome*.

5) I have a relaly fucking amazingly nice life. I'm going to take a few days to enjoy it, this week. Just a couple. JUst to read smut and cook and breathe. I think ti will be ok. Right? yeah.

6) oh! I forgot - the barefoot countessa chick on food tv - amazing! I made her warm duck salad (only not with duck beucase you have to ask for it two weeks early so we had a steak), and um.... oh right - butternut squash rissotto and ... chocolate sorbet and a yummy buelberry crumb cake and EVERYTHING was fucking brilliant.

Welll, the sorbet would have been yummier with cream, and probably duck would have been nice, and the streusel was about twice as much as the cake really needed, but still. GOod recipes.

7) I love stony bath night. I'm going to go have some sorbet.

I love the Barefoot Countessa on The Food Network.

It was delicious and easy - much more so than I remember rissotto being in the past.

Changes = I used 4 C chicken stock, about half the butter, and an extra ounce of pancetta, since the package came with 3 oz not 2 oz. After the squash-roasting, it only took about half an hour. :)
