*waves*

I'm here. We've had some technical difficulties, and a lot of jetlag, but we're doing well. We had a looooong walk in the cold evening with [livejournal.com profile] londinensa last night, which was fun. All of the lights along the river were lovely.

We're using free wifi at the law library - which is of course totally subtle and yet also seems at least 200 years old. As always, the architecture just blows me away. Nothing is even vaguely this old in California.

And I'm aso having fun wearing my hat. And scarf. And gloves. My coat even buttons over my boobs now - it didn't when I bought it. I somehow lost 7 lbs in the last month, without exercising and with lots of bad-mood eating. I win!

I think I'm ready to move here. The swoony accents are pretty much the final straw. :)

Oh God, yes! The voice/accent is such a kink of mine. Aussie, Kiwi, Brit, Welsh, Scots! Oh yeah, baby. Gimme the voice, with the accent, every damn time.

Glad to hear you arrived safely and are having such a good time. And Go You! Seven pounds! Without even trying? I hate you. In only the most positive, life-affirming way, of course.

Enjoy the rest of your vacation.

Mmmm, accents... So swoony. :)

(Don't hate me until those 7 lbs stay off for a while. And are joined by the other 60 I need to lose. *g*)

*hug*

Welcome to Europe, lol! Aren't you glad you took a warm night-shirt with you, lol? It's freezing here.

It hasn't seemed all that cold inside, but I'm very glad I listened to the "bring warm clothes" suggestions. I could still use some warmer socks, if I find some. ;)

I'm so happy you're there safely and having fun despite the jetlag!!! Thank you so much for sharing with us!!! *bounces*

Thank you so much for the wonderful Christmas card! I love it! Yours is the first! *squishes*

I will try to update more as I go on. So far this is a nice and mellow trip, rather than jam-packed with sight seeing. I think that will be next week! :)

Glad you got the card! 8smooch*

Am insanely jealous of your exposure to the accent. The weather not so much. I've got plenty of that over here. I completely wiped out on the icy sidewalk yesterday and sprained my ankle. At least in the UK I could listen to a pretty voice ask me if I was alright... would almost make falling worthwhile... I think I could die happy if I moved there. Smile at a pretty boy for me. Other than yer hubby I mean. *winkwink* Have a great time. *smooch*

Oh Noes! Are you okay?????

If you go to the walk-in clinic at the crossways, there's this hot young Chinese doc... and there is a positively swoony emergency room doctor at Western General - he's all Scottish and burly. *rawr*

If you're covered, my physio really is the best. But it's like $55 an appointment, so only if your coverage is still going... he's a little metro but in an extremely fit black-belt-in-karate way, he's Sri Lankan but totally Canadian, has a lovely voice (totally Canadian, but very smooth) and great hands.

Yes, I assumed you'd have plenty of weather of your own - probably more! I'm so sorry about your wipe my - you have my most sincere empathy and hopes of a quick recovery. *smooches the ankle to make it all better*

I'll be on the lookout for pretty boys - as if I wasn't always. ;)

Sounds delightful! Can't say I miss the cold of New England but I do miss the snow, at Christmas time anyway. Living further south as we do now, today it is pouring and 60 degrees.
There are accents here too but not anything like you are experiencing!
Enjoy your time there and be safe.

I'm hoping it will snow, since we'll be up north a bit for Christmas. So far the weather has been very pleasant - today is the first day of rain. :)

thanks! *hug*

The novelty of being all bundled up nicely offsets the streaming eyes and hat-hair. ;)

I'm laughing my ass off at little Miss Should-I-Risk-Toronto-In-April? kicking around London fucking England in December!

I bet you look really cute in your hat and scarf and gloves and coat. (It's fun for the first few days. Here we find December brisk and glorious at times. February... not so much. And by March, we're bloody sick of it.)

*accent-envy*

Yesterday I was on the subway across from 2 hot Russian guys. Okay, on of them was meh, and the other one was hot in a rough trade sort of way. Awesome thighs. Anyway, the speak-Russian-to-me-while-I-writhe-on-the-floor factor was very high. They were having a quite animated conversation, and not knowing any Russian, I was completely free to imagine what it might be about.

That's totally not related. But I jsut had to make myself feel like you're not having ALL the fun. *snerk*

So you'll behaving regular access? Or should your Xmas present-fic wait until you get home...

The weather hasn't actually been too scary yet, and we haven't even had any rain until this morning. It's been cold, but the novelty of being bundled up has offset the stinging skin and watery eyes. :) Now I just need some thicker socks!

I bet it's *way* colder in Toronto. :P

Oooh, Russians.... Maybe you need to take that as a sign to write more of that Kiril story. *nudge*

I think I'll have semi-regular access - at least a few hours every 2-3 days. Thank goodness! Fics are at your convienence, of course. I'm not doing prezzies until I get back. Maybe for Chinese New Year...

I like the Chinese New Year idea for pressies. That gives everyone more time to be sufficiently smutty.

Rain. *chortles* We've had 21/4 cm of snow so far.

More Kirill is on the way.............

Hope you have a wonderful time in London. Although I'm betting you'll get tired of the cold weather pretty quick and be glad to get back to the California Sunshine. :)

Thanks! Now if only the fat stays off... ;)

I'm sure you're right. After 3 weeks, it will be a relief to get back to my "normal" weather, which by that time should be cold and rainy, too. Just less cold.

And with a lot less swoony-accented boys. *g*

The weather has been decent so far - we even managed to putter around long enough to miss the rain over the weekend. Whoo! :)
