Day... 3, is it? Yes.

*waves*
I'm here. We've had some technical difficulties, and a lot of jetlag, but we're doing well. We had a looooong walk in the cold evening with
londinensa last night, which was fun. All of the lights along the river were lovely.
We're using free wifi at the law library - which is of course totally subtle and yet also seems at least 200 years old. As always, the architecture just blows me away. Nothing is even vaguely this old in California.
And I'm aso having fun wearing my hat. And scarf. And gloves. My coat even buttons over my boobs now - it didn't when I bought it. I somehow lost 7 lbs in the last month, without exercising and with lots of bad-mood eating. I win!
I think I'm ready to move here. The swoony accents are pretty much the final straw. :)

Date: 2008-12-11 01:34 pm (UTC)Glad to hear you arrived safely and are having such a good time. And Go You! Seven pounds! Without even trying? I hate you. In only the most positive, life-affirming way, of course.
Enjoy the rest of your vacation.

Date: 2008-12-12 01:54 am (UTC)If you go to the walk-in clinic at the crossways, there's this hot young Chinese doc... and there is a positively swoony emergency room doctor at Western General - he's all Scottish and burly. *rawr*
If you're covered, my physio really is the best. But it's like $55 an appointment, so only if your coverage is still going... he's a little metro but in an extremely fit black-belt-in-karate way, he's Sri Lankan but totally Canadian, has a lovely voice (totally Canadian, but very smooth) and great hands.

Enjoy your time there and be safe.

Date: 2008-12-12 01:59 am (UTC)I bet you look really cute in your hat and scarf and gloves and coat. (It's fun for the first few days. Here we find December brisk and glorious at times. February... not so much. And by March, we're bloody sick of it.)
*accent-envy*
Yesterday I was on the subway across from 2 hot Russian guys. Okay, on of them was meh, and the other one was hot in a rough trade sort of way. Awesome thighs. Anyway, the speak-Russian-to-me-while-I-writhe-on-the-floor factor was very high. They were having a quite animated conversation, and not knowing any Russian, I was completely free to imagine what it might be about.
That's totally not related. But I jsut had to make myself feel like you're not having ALL the fun. *snerk*
So you'll behaving regular access? Or should your Xmas present-fic wait until you get home...

Date: 2008-12-13 07:09 am (UTC)I bet it's *way* colder in Toronto. :P
Oooh, Russians.... Maybe you need to take that as a sign to write more of that Kiril story. *nudge*
I think I'll have semi-regular access - at least a few hours every 2-3 days. Thank goodness! Fics are at your convienence, of course. I'm not doing prezzies until I get back. Maybe for Chinese New Year...

More Kirill is on the way.............

Date: 2008-12-14 12:02 am (UTC)I'm sure you're right. After 3 weeks, it will be a relief to get back to my "normal" weather, which by that time should be cold and rainy, too. Just less cold.
And with a lot less swoony-accented boys. *g*
