OK, so I had another one of my wacky ideas and I'm just going with it: I want to do a road trip/book tour this spring. In April or May, probably.

I think I'll drive down to LA, stop and see my mom in Arizona, maybe head out to Texas, across the South to Florida, up to New York, and back across the Midwest to Chicago, to Seattle and down through Oregon back home.

Something that would make this actually feasible would be the possibility of staying with friends rather than paying for motels for two or three weeks. So if you know me fairly well and feel like it might be fun to have a houseguest for no more than two nights (I'm very tidy and I cook!), I'd love to combine some friend-visiting into my plans. I have several f-list friends I've met in person who can vouch for me not being a serial-killer or unduly pervy in non-pervy settings (i.e. I'm child-proof. Spouse- and parent-proof, too.)

Anyone? I can even bring an air mattress and my own pillow. ;)

Let me know ASAP if you're interested in hooking up so I can start seeing what bookstores are in what areas and if they'd be willing to carry my book/do an author signing/workshop.

Thanks!

(x-posted everywhere I go; sorry if you get inundated)

The first two I've been to and like a lot. Tulip I've heard about, but don't recall going into, but I may have done on one of our Halstead St. crawls. Both Early To Bed and Tulip offer seminars, so they would probably be a very good fit.
