Whoopie! Almost done!

I'm fucking FINALLY almost done with the first draft of EE4. This has taken longer than I ever anticipated. :P

I guess that's what happens when your muses get all angsty and fret too much. I think the whole rest of the series is going to be PWPs in retaliation...

As I was saying to lostiawen earlier this week, sometimes writing is like playing with Barbie dolls. You get them all dressed up and put them in the Barbie-vette, but they don't want to go anywhere or talk or anything. Brats.

And I really wish I knew a Brit well enough to ask all my stupid "what's another phrase for 'pissed off' since that means drunk to you all?" kinds of questions. I've spent -hours- looking at the Britishisms dictionaries on the web, but they're not always that helpful. I think my Orli is sounding way too American. *le sigh*

Plowing through my to-do list. Getting homework finished. Hope to have the last essay for last semester's last class done by Monday. Fucking took me long enough, I know. And now I only have one class for this semester, and I'm keeping up with it. So far. ;)

Betaing again, which is always nice. I forget how much I enjoy being all anal retentive detail oriented on other people's fics. Betaing always makes me self-conscious though, since it highlights all the things that I do wrong and makes me feel like a hypocrite. And it REALLY makes me wish more writers who post to Yahoo!groups would use a beta-reader though. *shudder* Today's cringe was 'bare' versus 'bear'... gives a sex scene a whole different meaning, folks.

Found $400 in a book that I saved from my great-aunt's stuff. We're going to be fiscally irresponsible good consumers and buy a digital camera! Prepare to be annoyed by way too many pictures of the world's most wonderful beast (my dog) and my lovely house in the mountains (well, not the house itself, but the view).

A friend tried again to get me to come and work for his porno company (the one he works at; he doesn't own it) as a librarian. But they require that I be done with the degree and they pay a touch less than I make now. Where's the incentive in that?

Oh right, all the hot gay boys. Hmmm... Maybe I'll have to recosider...

I feel like I should have something major to report, but I guess I've not been busy with anything big, just sorting out about 4 months worth of odds and ends. Can't wait to finish up EE4 and move onto something fun with lostiawen!



Oscars are tomorrow! *bounce* I wonder if anyone who makes me squee will be there!

I don't know if this helps, but in Britain pissed is drunk, pissed off is annoyed. The 'off' makes all the difference. I can't really think of another phrase that works as a substitute for pissed off to be honest, while i can think of lots of other substitutes for 'pissed'.
