Places to visit/things to do next time I'm in the UK:

* boat tour on the Thames
* Globe theater, tour and show
* Sherlock Holmes tour - now I really wish I'd done this in 2005, since I bet it's super crowded now
* Greenwich GMT visit
* Parliment
* Tate and Tate Modern
* Portrait Gallery
* Science Museum
* Hyde Park
* concert at St. Martin in the Fields
* London Dungeon tour
* London Zoo
* Temple (we are literally right across the street and down a block and keep forgetting to go until it's closed)

* Oxford University/Bodleian Library(s)
* punting (in Oxford or wherever)
* Stonehenge (and NOT be rushed this time)
* Bath
* Yorkshire Dales
* walking holiday of Devon/Sussex/etc coast
* Hadrain's wall
* Loch Ness
* Isle of Skye
* anywhere in Scotland
* Tintagel
* cheese tour - Cheddar, Gloucester, etc
* Cadbury museum/tour (I'm not letting this one go, Heather)
* somewhere on the east coast - haven't been anywhere that direction yet

And that's all I can think of easily...

I'm pretty sure this list is almost exactly what my UK dream trip looks like. Even getting to experience an eighth of it would be a dream. Why does the UK have to be so far away?

If you'd stayed for more than 23 hours we might have been able to do Cadbury's...

And I took you to Bath. OK I took you to Bath after we'd driven down to Glastonbury and I needed a train station that would let you guys get back into London. But *technically* you have been to Bath...

Think you need to come one June/July. Late enough that we might be in Summer but early enough that the kids aren't off (September also works). Depends of course on if you are bring G and when schools out for him!

I know, I know. Xmas was just too crazy.

Close only counts in horeshoes and hand grendades. ;) Bath needs a do-over, as does Stonehenge.

Next June - sure thing. Let me just start saving some dollars. You can help by lowering the exchange rate for me.

If you're doing a coastal walking holiday, you MUST include Cornwall. You'll tell when you visit Tintagel that Cornwall has some of the most beautiful coastline in the British Isles. :-)

EDIT Also Cadburys, and in my hometown too. ;-p

That does sound nice. I don't know enough about the details of the kind of walking tour where you walk from village to village and the company drives your stuff from inn to inn. Will have to do mroe research... :)

Yay Cadbury's! We should plan an outing with gladsomemind, who lives near-ish.

LOL Sounds like a plan. I think it's kind of geared a little bit towards kids, but there's still lots of historical stuff about the development of Cadbury's, and the last time I was there, they give you some free chocolate bars. They also have a discount shop attached where you can buy just about any Cadbury product.

You can sort of ki two birds with one stone here. there's now a boat to take you down the thames from Tate to Tate Modern :)

But don't go to Cadbury World, it's really a lot less fun than it sounds!
