Thank you for the adorable spiders! Those are the kind I can handle, that don't give me the heebie-jeebies. :)
Feel like I should update more often, but I'm not in much of a happy bouncy fannish mood. I'm pretty much only reading SGA these days, as comfort, when I have time. Reading submissions for Dreamspinner has really impacted how much time I have for fandom reading... Not that that's bad, just different. But I'm getting *paid* to read, which is still totally freaking awesome.
Samhain in the local pagan community is tonight. I still haven't decided if I'm going to go or not. Last month, I would have said I was fine. Something's made me feel really raw and weepy lately though, so now I don't know. I don't like to cry in front of other people, but maybe this would be good for me, like the catharsis of a funeral. I don't know...
Anyway, thank you all for voting in the poll! I have a game plan now, that should take me through the next several months, with a few holiday-related interruptions!

What type of festival is it?

Date: 2011-10-30 04:40 pm (UTC)Sounded a little intense for two people who randomly cry because they walk past the dog's food-bowl spot and it's empty.

Date: 2011-10-30 05:31 pm (UTC)As far as the festival, it sounds like fun to me. Never having been to one, I'd go for the 'new and different' factor alone.

Date: 2011-10-30 08:10 pm (UTC)I've been to Samhain several times, and my coven used to do a thing every year until we dissolved last year. I think it's better to be solemn and spiritual than sobbing in grief. ;)

Date: 2011-10-30 09:34 pm (UTC)And being paid to read is actually my dream job, but I'm a little picky at what I read I prolly wouldn't do good at it.
Didn't mean to be a lurker for so long after you friended me, but I've had some things on my plate lately. I am too getting over the passing of my beloved cat. I think this Halloween is going to be the hardest, because I used to give him little pieces of twizzlers when I was younger and went trick-or-treating... He was a spoiled cat.
Please feel free to comment to me if you like. And thanks again for the friending...

Date: 2011-10-31 04:23 am (UTC)Here's a good basic outline of what we do: http://www.soulrebels.com/beth/etiquette.html
Being paid to read defintiely had its down sides... Lots of the stories are crap (which I don't read past the first 10%) or not my cuppa tea (which ihave to at least skim). ut I love the press, so it all works out. :)
Welcome!
