meme gacked from everyone, since I'm late as usual. This one made me think and I wanted to do it:

1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?
Went to Big Sur, learned to do sword fighting, started painting, did more priestessing

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Hahahhaha. No. I had planned to write one chapter or more of EE every month and finish it by June. And write a sequel to a HP fic, which I've abandoned. And finish my degree (almost done, though!)

And yes, I always make some.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes, Cathi

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Yes, my great aunt Mildred

5. What countries did you visit?
Didn't even go out of state

6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
A Master's degree in Library Science. And a NaNoWriMo novel. And some travel in the UK.

7. What dates from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Feb 3rd - very bad day for my marriage

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Hmm... Probably fixing (starting to at least) my marriage.

Probably gaining weight due to depression and not finishing writing projects "on schedule".

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Had several ovarian cysts, which was a whole lot of no fun.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Maybe art supplies, especially the easel. And docs - my very first pair ever.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
My dad's actually been amazingly supportive, first with my aunt's death, and then with my marriage threatening to fall apart, and then with things with my mom/step-father kind of being sticky.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
Past behavior, really, but I'm still stunned at the inappropriate things my stepfather did when I was a teenager, that I only realized a few months ago.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Home, definitely. Personal money, to clothes and the hair dresser. :)

Cities in Dust
Water was running; children were running
You were running out of time
Under the mountain, a golden fountain
Were you praying at the Lares shrine?
But oh your city lies in dust, my friend
We found you hiding we found you lying
Choking on the dirt and sand
Your former glories and all the stories
Dragged and washed with eager hands
But oh your city lies in dust, my friend
Hot and burning in your nostrils
Pouring down your gaping mouth
Your molten bodies blanket of cinders
Caught in the throes .......
And your city lies in dust

I'm really glad things are working out in your marriage now. I hope it continues. :) Do you want to go anywhere particular in the UK? And sword fighting - cool!

Thank you!

And yes, everywhere! ;) I think I'll have about 2 weeks... I've been to Cambridge and Aberystywth (sp?), but just about every other little village in the country has something I'd like to see. Will be spending probably a week in London, for certain. :D

Dare I ask where you are, or is that too personal?

I live in the middle of nowhere just outside Stratford upon Avon, where Shakespeare was born. If you can get up to Scotland, that would be cool. Scotland is really beautiful and wild. Or you could always come back. ;) I'd love to see places like Avebury and Stonehenge but I've never been.
